CROWTON- DO NOT LET JLEE PASS OVER THE MIDDLE! I agree we have to pass some but where he slings it around with reckless abandon is his over the middle passes.

Let him throw a few short slants and sideline routes that are difficult to intercept.

If we decide to throw, Go Deep! Better chance of tackling after the interception.

i think lsu will be able to run on bama. Just like georgia had this vaunted run defense and scott and company ate them alive. It seems in most games i watched including tulane, we run the ball down the other teams throat score, then lee is put in to play and starts slinging it around and the offense goes stagnant

you think ga has a good defense

I really think by running more than throwing, allowing the Offensive Line to wear down Bama's Defense and making long time consuming drives will be the ticket to victory for LSU..............

From today's Advocate:
Top-ranked Alabama, and rightly so, touts how its defense has cut down opposing rushers. Bama is second in the nation in rushing defense (65.6 yards per game), has allowed one rushing TD and no back to reach 100 yards. In the team’s notes is a breakdown of every running back Bama has stopped. Clemson’s James Davis and C.J. Spiller? 20 yards, combined. Tulane’s Andre Anderson? 32 (91 yards below his average). Georgia’s Knowshon Moreno? 34 (76 yards below his average). Arkansas’ Michael Smith? 91 (32 yards below his average).

A lot of that has to do with Bama getting ahead early and taking their opponent out of their game plan tho............LSU has the O-Line to get it done!!!!!!

I say start the game in the hurry up with scott and KW in the backfield and run, run, run. Maybe take a shot play action deep so if its an int no big deal. I think crowton needs to keep the passing game to things that are simple reads and safe throws. Like it or not bama fams we have superior athletes, we just have to get them the ball.

Big blowout win for the tigahs

However, against any quality defense, if you don't keep the linebackers and defensive backs honest with the legitimate threat of a pass, even if it's a short, relatively safe route, your running game will get shut down.

not if you use the option

now, can anybody explain why we haven't been practicing a lot of option since the offseason?

There are 2 things that I believe are essential for your primary offensive weapon to be the run (in addition to a strong running game, of course). First, you have to have the pass as a credible alternative. Not necessarily the deep threat, but the ability to keep the LBs and DBs honest. Second, your defense needs to keep the opponent's scoring down, because coming from behind, or putting up lots of points, with the run game is a tall order.

Dude, have you seen LSU throw the ball? If we can't run the football then this game, like Florida, was over before it started.

I am convinced, if they would have just run the football on Georgia, they could have won. But no, gotta open in a 5 wide set to throw the ball 5 yards for a pick 6.

LSU is 3rd in the conference in pass efficiency, 4th in passing offense, Lee is 3rd individually in pass efficiency...not sure why folks can't see the positives as well as the negatives in Lee's game.

You can only run so many times with 8-9 in the box.
