Heisman winners always equal NFL success. See Jason White, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith, Tebow, Manziel, etc.

That goes both ways. Every defense knew Smith was the game plan and they still couldn’t stop him. Especially after Waddle got injured.

I don’t think Chase would have been as successful if the defense didn’t have to worry about Jefferson, Marshall, Clyde, etc. Just double Chase and be done with it.

Unless you have incompetent defensive coordinators who refuse to put their best corner on him.

Also, Chase averaged about 6 more yards per catch than Smith just didn’t get as many passes thrown to him.

No way Smith goes #2 and Chase goes #3. Too many quality QB’s in this draft and Penei Sewell. Pick #4 is the highest I could see a receiver being selected. And that receiver should be Chase.

You can not be serious. 30? You’re just bitter he opted out of the season.

So?
Last time I checked, Kiper doesn’t actually get a pick

He isn't a finesse speedster.

Dude is pretty technical.

I wouldn't take either player in the top 3.
I don't think either receiver will go top 3
Smith is technical, but also a very finesse player. Smith is not Jefferson.

Chase is a legit All Pro type WR. He is exactly the type of WR that would go in the top 5. The Dolphins need a #1 WR, but I doubt they will go after one. If the Jets don't take a QB, they'll try to trade back to a team that will and the Jets might then take Chase. I'd rather he not go there.

Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, and there were a ton of morons that expected them to succeed.

Smith was force-fed the ball vs horrific defenses. This is no different than what Amari Cooper did in a worse offense with a worse QB. Y'all will realize just how good LSU's WRs were compared to Bama's over the last few years.

lol, it's like you didn't even see Metchie and Harris compare with Marshall and Clyde. He was force-fed the ball as well. Smith had 33 more catches than Chase, but only had 76 more yards and 3 more TDs.

Chase is a guy that can get more out of 50 catches than a guy that gets 75-80 catches.

I wouldn't wish that evil upon Smith.

If they pass on a QB I think they'll go Sewell. Miami could end up making a move for Watson and trade that pick. If not and they decide to stick with Tua I can see them taking a WR there especially if Sewell is off the board.

Chase is quitter....prove to me otherwise

Like it or not, Chase made a business decision to opt out and protect his stock by avoiding injury and devoting his time to prepare for the combine.

Smith made a business decision to return and improve his stock.

Both players made the right choice. NFL teams aren't going to judge Chase with the same irrational emotional criteria that you are. It won't be the slightest factor.

This is such a snowflake take.

The only reason you care about Chase "quitting" is for your own selfishness in wanting LSU to be good, not some moral high ground.

The jets looking at their franchise and then drafting a WR #2 and being like “fixed it” is the most Jets thing possible.

.

They need way more shite than a WR.

I’m sure he will project him to 5-6 different teams before the draft

Both will be very good in their own way. Chase is more like a Julio Jones while Smith is a calvin ridley.

Both Elite receivers with different skill sets

They’ll both be very good, but Chase will be better.

Chase has proven that he can catch in traffic many times and is a brawler for the ball. Smith is great but was wide arse open most of the time when thrown to. I get that he can get open, but in the pros that is not going to happen as much. Hence Chase catching in traffic makes him better imo.

Really hope the Dolphins don't draft Chase. Tua is going to be a bust. Hope he goes elsewhere
