On the beach in Malibu, CA way back in 1989. Some guy recognized my LSU jersey and said something that started up a conversation.......

Was at the North Idado College Campus in Couer d'Alene, Idaho for a site visit. It was January and very cold so as I walked from building to building I have my LSU ski cap on. As I walked by a mom and her son (he was decked out in LSU gear) the mom tells her son....LOOK and points to me. The kid (around 4 years old) comes up to me and gives me a high five and of course a GEAUX TIGERS. All the North Idaho students turned around to take a look.

To be fair, I'm sure there are similar anecdotes of fans from other schools from all over the world. For instance, just last week I heard that the Red Cross in Rwanda received several crates of orange t-shirts proclaiming the Texas Longhorns as 2009 College World Series Champions.

I like looking at the odd and unusual video on CNN on Monday mornings. So here is an LSU fan for you in Ohio. So here is the link to the WBNS 10TV story and video link. "An Ohio man's wedding ring has been returned after it slipped off his finger at a Texas toll booth. WBNS reports." Lost wedding ring Link

We moved to Colorado last September. It is amazing how many Tiger alum and Fans are way up here. In fact, last week we boarded our dogs in Colorado Springs while we were doing some vacationing in the area and the owner comes out and he is wearing an LSU cap. He and his wife have been living in CO Springs for the last 5 or so years and are from Laf. There always seems to be an LSU connection if you look hard enough, no matter where you are.

I was at a beer festival in Salida over the weekend and saw a guy there with an LSU hat on. I gave him a little "Geaux Tigers" and he looked over and smiled at me. He asked where my colors were. I told him that I wear my colors on my skin and showed him my Eye of the Tiger tat.

Went canoeing down the Sabine River below Toledo Bend with some kids from Minniapolis Minnesota. They were with their father. All of em had LSU hats on. I asked them where did they get those hats, and they said their aunt from B.R. had bought them. I said who is your Aunt and they said its your sister dummy. I thought that was neat but strange in a way.

what annoys the hell out of me is when i say "geaux tigers" and get no reponse from the person. and i'm not talking like we're sitting in mass or anything, like in a bar or on the street.

it happened to me a few weeks ago in duluth, minnesota. i threw out a geaux tigers and got nothing back as our paths crossed on the street. my wife, who's from there and has seen this enough to know it's not strange behavior for lsu people, was even sort of taken aback since the guy looked at me the whole way.

Althought not unexpected was in Orlando, a few weeks ago and saw people with LSU garb on everywhere. I finally decided to just count people with SEC College gear on in Hollywood theme park fka MGM the last day. Totals LSU 14, florida 3, bama 2, Ole Miss 1, UGA 1. You see may more LSU garb in Destin that any other school by far, but Orlando is way more UF turf.

there aren't many people in Orlando who are from Florida

I met one on the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok one day. I had my Tiger jersey on, he asked me how I thought the team was going to do that year.

I was at a Tab Benoit concert the other night and in between songs, this chick behind me started up with L-S-U. A little while later, at intermission, I was in the drink line and looked behind me to see the woman doing the L-S-U cheer. So I asked her if she was a Tiger. She said she was an *Auburn* Tiger but she was cheering for LSU because Tab's a big LSU fan. My first thought was that we could handle our own cheerleading and the last people we need help from are Auburn fans. But I didn't say any of that to her. I just said that he probably appreciated that and turned back around.

Just got back from Colorado. Hiking in Rocky Mtn. Natl park to a waterfall and had my LSU cap on. Got 3 "Geaux Tigers" from passersby. Had fun with some Longhorn fans in a couple of places. I tigerbaited them (of course), then got into a nice discussion of baseball. Lot of kids from our high school's district at Texas and Rice now, so we lots to talk about. All were good sports and gave props to the Tigers!!
