I get that, your perspective is likely pretty different and that's fine. Just was expressing that for me, I grew up on a decade of LSU consistently being in the cream of the crop and in natty conversation. On Honey Badger and Game of the Century and the lore of Saban and the grass-eating Mad Hatter. The past decade just makes me really nostalgic for that era of LSU football

Clemson is not a make or break game, but leaving with a W will take the monkey off Kelly's back and be a springboard for the season.
If he loses that game then the pressure is going to be insane but he's done it to himself.

If he doesn't make the Polian hire and fire an amazing special teams coach then he likely wins the opener vs FSU in New Orleans. If he doesn't fire Corey Raymond and field the worst defense I've ever seen wear purple and gold then he probably wins the national title in 2023.

He has done it to himself with poor decision after another, awful DB recruiting in both highschool and the portal and some garbage defensive coach hires.

My big concern is S&C. A&M bullied us last year and just ran it down our throat. Letting Tommy Moffit go was likely an enormous mistake.

Before anyone comes at me about that - Nick Saban loved Tommy Moffit and tried to poach him several times. So either I and Nick Saban are correct or Brian Kelly is. You can pick your side, idgaf. I know we never got bullied by the Aggie's when Moffit was on our side and all of a sudden with a first year head coach they just pushed our shite in last year snd looked bigger, stronger and better conditioned in the 2nd half.

ETA: Don’t believe me? Go be a fan of a team like Mississippi State or Boston College or Nebraska or any school that’s completely mediocre like that for 3 years. See how much you have to be thankful for over here with LSU. A little perspective would be beneficial for some of our loudest fans
So finishing ranked behind ULL (unranked) is now LSU fans faults and we shouldn't compare ourselves to Georgia, Alabama, Texas or Florida.

Now we need to be in the category of Mississippi State, Boston College or Nebraska?

I don't understand this loser attitude.

that's what im piecing together. Guess that kind of sustained success is an outlier for LSU and not the norm I thought it was. Do you think the next decade looks more like mediocre teams who don't even consistently make the playoffs then?

GTFO here with that dumb, false, BS narrative

Lol what? Perrilloux was a sophomore in 07 when he won the SEC title MVP.

He has nothing to do with 2011

Nebraska has a better historical football program than all of these schools combined except for Alabama.

They’ve had some rough times in Nebraska, but they’ll be back eventually. They’ve won’t end up like Ole Miss and go 62 years without a conference championship.

the same A&M that got boatraced by SCar and let up 43 to a crap Auburn team? they had a worse season than we did, their physicality in one game against us might not be indicative of their whole season

to be fair I was being ironic there lol. the comment I was responding to was basically saying that is the best decade in LSU's history, kind of implying we cant have that kind of success anymore.

Which i find to be BS too

Quit twisting my words, you dumb bastard. You can be happy and want more simultaneously.
Lol your argument is we should be happy because of how bad we are in the 1980's and 1990s and you thought we were almost going to go back to that. So you're happy now but I don't understand why. We didn't finish ranked and we were out of the playoff hunt before November on top of that Alabama kicked the absolute shite out of us with their worst team in 20 years

Boomer bullshite of being happy you're not at the bottom because at one time you were. This is why the state has suffered so much under your generation. Yall are content with mediocrity as long as it's not as bad as one time 30-40 years ago

Yeah when TV contracts were limited and they had success recruiting the west coast and south east. Nebraska produces almost no NFL talent. They relied on guys like Tommy Frazier (Florida)

That's a different era and it's never coming back.

Minnesota and Army used to have great football teams too if you want to go back to the 40's.

They may get lucky with a generational talent but Nebraska will never return to what it was under Tom Osborne, they have no geographical advantage, they don't invest as much compared to other blue bloods and no one is going to want to move to Lincoln Nebraska from Florida or California and pass up on better resources, programs, women and coaches.

Nebraska had its heyday when it could tell kids they'll be on TV at least 5 times a year. That advantage is dead and gone.

With a first year coach who's in a full rebuild.

I don't know exactly what your asking if you want me to compare all teams physicality against eachother- I just know A&M were on the field together and they scored 4 TDs in the 2nd half and passed the ball twice.

They played big boy football and ran it down our throat.

We had an incredible run. Really in the last 25 years there were so many seasons where we would into it and only expect Alabama and/or Florida to potentially beat us. Other teams scared a year here or there, but never with the consistency of those two.

What is wild is that Saban got away (we will never know) and after we had the greatest season of all time our coach went off the rails and his personal life unfortunately fricked up his coaching life. Throw in one of the most lovable oddballs who also had some skeletons in the closet and now a coach with everything to his name BUT a national title and here we are...

Likely a top ten program ALL TIME, 9th or 10th by some metrics, but with half a dozen seasons where ONE more win gets us an elite bowl game and finish and then definitely not playing up to the potential in the last couple of season.

We are literally top 10 going into this season in rankings and odds to win it all.

When our LG went out it was a jailbreak up the middle so our offense was done. And the Lil fast qb was killing us. Teams got some film on him and bam...he was garbage. Coaching

You really are a miserable moron. That explains why you post on here so much. People clearly don't like you in person. Now I actually pity you. Seriously though, get out and live a little. TD will still be here when you get back. BTW, you need to get your generations right. I'm not a boomer. I'm Gen X.

What a crock of shite. The new generation is the most entitled, lazy, to come along in many many years, probably ever. Living off your hard working boomer parents. You are one stupid mf

Exactly! Most of these newer generations graduate with worthless degrees that teach no job skills whatsoever, then they leave the state and become slaves to the establishment working in a cubicle for $10 dollars an hour. Then they return home and bitch about their day to their roommates living identical lives. And older people are the idiots? LOL

Lincoln, Nebraska is an awesome place actually. The only downside is the cold.

In pretty much every other way, it’s better than Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, and even Gainesville.
