Sure, but he also beat Michigan (national runner up) the day before that. This team hasn’t beaten anyone with a pulse all year.

Wake Forest is 13-5 (5-2) in ACC play. Now, I seriously doubt they end up as the national runner up. But they aren't a bad team either. LSU also looked like they were going to OT vs. a K-State team that is currently ranked #11 but for the clock malfunction.

LSU had some horrible, turn-off-the-tv early games in Wade's first year too. Most notably, the Notre Dame game, the Auburn and Tennessee games, as well as 25 point blowout at Alabama and an absolute arse-kicking at Utah to end the season.

The last 3 games have been ugly. NO ONE will dispute that. But I'm not ready to definitively judge a coach after 1/2 of his first season. Hell, Billy Donovan (who is 2nd all time in SEC wins) had losing seasons in his first two years at Florida. The positive overaction after with respect to McMahon after the first two SEC games was ridiculous. But so is the negative overreaction after the last 3

Dude once again the SEC at that time was not even close to as deep and well coached as it is today so it’s ridiculous to compare the two. This team would’ve done a lot better in the league at that time.

A good friend of mine who jumps quickly to conclusions thinks McMahon was a bad hire.

However, I disagreed with that. I think it is too soon to know for sure.

It does seem like McMahon is a better X's and O's coach than Wade, but Wade perhaps is the stronger recruiter, though his actions on that front attracted NCAA scrutiny.

Dumb! When John Brady became HC, we were on probation. Handicap! After the first meeting with Brady most of the team players left. He had to completely rebuild the team with JCs and freshmen.
And we won 6 SEC games over the next 2 seasons. McMahon doesn't even have the luxury of receiving the penalties yet, but you know damn well it affects recruiting.
