Florida won the National Championship last season
Its operating budget was behind (at LEAST) the following SEC programs: Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia

LSU's basketball expenditures were $9.8M. That put them behind Florida...but not by a lot.
Now, these figures do not include NIL...which isn't reported and is, at very best, speculative. But, again, if you go back and compare Florida's first 3 signing classes (HS and Transfers) with LSU's first 3, there isn't a ton of discrepancy.
Golden and McMahon were hired within 1 day of each other. Golden's contract was worth $3M annually. McMahon's was worth $2.8M
Yet, the results of the past 3 years COULD NOT BE more different. Florida won the NC. LSU has been one of the worst major conf. programs in the nation.
No, LSU is not one of the highest spenders among SEC teams. But they aren't the lowest either. And Florida showed just last season a school doesn't HAVE to be the highest spender to have great success.
For (almost) 4 years many have probed seemingly every angle to explain why LSU has been so bad...except the correct and most obvious: McMahon is simply a bad coach. Accept that fact and move on in hopes of finding a good/great coach.

200 students go to games---its crazy
This might sound like a wild concept, but fans generally don't have much interest in attending games for a losing program. McMahon is 11-19 in home SEC games in his career
