LSU doesn't need to beat cupcakes by 60+, they just need to have the ability to beat cupcakes by 60+ and when the score looks more like 31-13, it needs to be because they so dominated the first quarter and a half that they were able to get the third-string water boy some snaps to hone his skills. When McNeese scores on the backup D and holds the backup offense to FGs, pollsters won't punish the team and talking heads will yammer about what a standup guy the coach is for not running up the score. Best of both worlds--dominance with class.

I will give ya the TROY game Behind by 30 in the third is a BAD THING. I have been WAY critical of this.

When has THIS happened last year???

It is cause for concern and a clear message there is something wrong with the current state of the team and needs attention. This is a reasonable conclusion.

Amen! 31-13 is fine as long as the halftime score is 31-0.

Dude,

Listen to me.

As convienent as it is to blame GC.... he isn't the reason we did not score 60 points in any football game this year.

I don't know who the greatest offenisve corrd in the history of football is, but whoever that dude would be couldnt have made it happen either.

Your Honor.... we have reached a verdict. Les Miles is guilty of intentionally holding back the team in the 1st degree. We also question our own sanity as to why we let him stay here and do the same thing with the next OC for the next 5 years!!.

DISAGREE!!! YOU don't know how much MILES had his hand in the offense. It will depend on WHAT OC he chooses as to how much we improve on offense. IF[AND A BIG IF] He lets the OC do his job, it could improve, But if he gets an OC that HE CONTROLS. You will be seeing the same thing we have seen for the last few years. IMO.

So you think miles let crowton control the 2007 season with his great offense and just took over the reins for some random reason the next year? IF (and that's a BIG if) miles dis take the reins from Gary, it was because Gary had consecutive shitty seasons as the bottom of the barrel offense in the country.

fricking conspiracy theorist.

Remember my support for you at the end of the year for the POY awards

But when did LM take the reins? Before the consecutive crappy seasons or after? Is LM the root cause of the consistently crappy Offense (JJ aside)?

What I'm saying is that when you struggle with teams like McNeese State, you get punished by the pollsters.

THIS IS A SHAME THEN. The POLLSTERS are just stupid. BOTTOM LINE IS to just WIN everygame. 10-9. AS LONG as YOU WIN THEY can't vote AN LSU OUT RIGHT??????

Best post of the century Dukke v. This is exactly what is going on at LSU. Les will always have his hand in the offense, that's just Les. People should be used to it by now. Anyone who knows anything knows this.

This is a good question. Why is he still here? (Until 2017!!) If Miles did have his hand in slowing down the offense, then that deserves some attention.
Are you really agreeing with that douchebag? Sad

The point is we should not be struggling against vastly inferior competition. The morons in this thread that don't get that will probably falsely accuse me of wanting LSU to run the score up. All we want is to play to our talent level, is that too much to ask?

Ummm. Do you not realize that LSU gets MAJOR practice time and experience for the younger players running up points against the little teams. That's the reason for doing it, that and getting your players confidence up for when we DO play the big boys. JJ's confidence was shattered all year because we (he) looked like crap against McNeese and Vandy.

I agree with this. It's like saying it's OK to skate on thin ice, play with rattle snakes and do Russian Roulette - as long as you win.

xyz nailed it! We had two mediocre quarterbacks. Hard to run a spread, throw-it-all-over-the-field offense when you have one quarterback with nervous feet who can't read through his progressions and another who closes his eyes, heaves it, and hopes for the best! Was it the system? The coaching? Or were neither of these guys destined for the college elite? I'll have to go with the latter. I respect these kids for all the hard work they put in, but some just have it, and some don't. They didn't. That being said, we MUST get a coordinator that compliments Les's two tight end, pro-style offensive mentality. And we MUST get a calm, smart, pocket passer (Mettenberger, I hope).
