Maybe it’s just me, but wouldn’t it be a good idea to spend bulk of NIL on linemen

In my mind, games are largely won with the line play on both sides of the ball. Control those, and you win most games. With a good offensive line, your QB’s, running backs and wide receivers all play better.
It just seems like most teams spend the bulk of NIL money on the flashy positions and give lesser attention to the lines.

I don’t Understand the struggles we’re having on offensive line ….my God these guys are 6-5 300 pounds.
You know the fricking snap count how hard is it to knock somebody off the football ??? I get the speed edge rushers sometimes they can get around the end I get that. But make an offensive line looks so hard.

It’s rare to have a lot of good OL in the portal. We got 3 of the best available the last 2 years.

Not a lot of great linemen—on either side of the ball—tend to enter the portal. Because of the nature of the position and how much physical maturity and strength play a factor, most great linemen tend to be older than great skill position guys who can play and flash early.
Most great linemen are either going to the NFL or are entrenched at their current schools. We got the best OT in the portal, the best DE, Baylor’s starting T, Maryland’s starting RG, a guy who played a lot and was expected be Ole Miss’s starting LG this year. A guy who would likely have been a starter at Kentucky. And a bunch of younger guys who are multi-year prospects and depth. I’m not sure we could have realistically done much—if any—better.

you go $$$buy and recruit people to the portal.
go steal STARTERS from ohio state, georgia, etc,
im spending 15 million this offseason on a
LT LG C RG RT
yup. if i can upgrade moore im doing it. not that he is terrible. just to see if we can get any better.
then use 25 million left on other spots or BPA.
hell we might go over 40 million this time. might need 50 million.

I mean we got Jordan Seaton who was definitely the highest paid OLineman in the portal this offseason
QB and EDGE are you two most important positions still by a long shot. Look what Trinidad just did to us. Does Ole Miss win that game with ANY other college QB starting for them? This is why they got the court order and paid him well into the 7 figures to come back for a 6th year. Ole Miss doesnt have some elite high level OLine. They couldnt run the ball on us. Yet they still won, putting up 32 in the process, and it all came off Chambliss just beating us constantly.
On the flipside pass rushers are drive killers if they're elite, thats why you pay for them too. I realize he's a DT but he lines up at DE too. Echoles was a drive ruiner for us this game, go back and watch the tape. He blew up so many plays.

Like I told y'all last year before the season, when you have brand new OL starters and piece things together, it's not going to work like you think it is the 1st year
