And the same TJ Finley that beat out Max Johnson to start the next 5 games after Brennan got hurt. If Johnson is so good how come he did not beat out Finley and could not beat him out for 5 games until Finley kept throwing the ball to the wrong team. Or we may never have seen Johnson.
Exactly. Max is at least a year away from being able to start on a legit team. And by then I bet Nuss passes him up.

Brennan has better stats for the games he played.
Brennan -
79-131/60.3%/1112yds/11TD-3INT
Johnson -
88-150/58.7%/1069yds/8TD-1INT
Now consider that Brennan had four years in the program and had Marshall and Gilbert to throw to and the stats are still about as even as they can get. Do you think that Johnson's numbers might have improved slightly with Marshall in the lineup?

Max played in 4.5 games and they designed easy pass plays for him. Factor in that the OL was better at the end of the season.

And you can't see that Johnson's movement in the pocket contributed to that.

Johnson 2-0?
He played in multiple games in which he was benched and Finley came back in until he was benched and then Johnson came back in, over and over.
Now Factor in that some dude threw a shoe and we kicked a 60 yard field goal in the fog to win a game against a team who basically sat out to get ready for the SEC championship.
And then Johnson played against an OM team that hasn’t played defense in 10 years.
I just don’t see how this true freshman gets credited for these wins under these circumstances and then is deemed the starting QB. On what merit?
Brennan beat them all out in spring, in summer, in fall to be named the starting QB. When has ever an injured starting player loose their position due to an injury. And then the back up gets named the starter for games that were won not completely by his own doing and HE did not even beat out the next guy up for the following 5 five games.
Only Orgeron can come up with this kind of scenario.

You can't be serious.
I gave you the stats. Johnson played just as well without the benefit of Marshall.

I’m gonna love y’all’s melt when Max starts game one then love it even more when you complain 7-8 incompletions against UCLA in a game in which win by double digits! I can never enough of you guys!
O loves Brennan more than his own mother loves him so if he’s having Max take 1st team reps that’s really all you need to know!

It helped. If mobility were the only or even most important part of being a QB we’d have had Stingley or Racey play QB.
The OL even looked better with TJ.

LSU doesn’t beat FLA or Ole Miss with TJ at QB.

How is he going to win it from the bench?

gonna be hard to win the Heisman from the bench
Indeed!

Lemme guess, you think Brennan is better because he has a “stronger arm” which has never been proven, or because he’s an “incredible arm talent”
Dude, Brennan has a much stronger arm. Has it been proven? No. How could it be? But if someone came on here and said that Max’ better scrambling ability has not been proven you would laugh them off the board...and rightfully so.
