We would have two more victories, minimum, if Beck was okay. The two games we blew in the ninth would have either been beck's games, or Beck would have saved Fontenot in the first game (Carolina) and Fontenot's first appearance would have been in game two.
Against Tennessee, there is little doubt that when we reconvened for the last inning with LSU protecting a 1 run lead, Beck would have been on the mound.

So fontenot has been erratic, but we should just assume beck wouldve been lights out?

Are these kids playing to much ball when younger and tearing up arm. Like high school. Then travel ball. Then college and off-season teams. Is this what is causing all these injuries. Just over use of arm?

In a lot of cases yes. Has to do with them throwing as hard as they can do often as well. Cranford had TJ surgery his last year of high school and it was from overuse by coaches at a young age in travel ball

It's a moot point, but I think it's reasonable to have expected him to perform like he did previously...which basically means a good outing 3 out of 4 times.
