Joseph Duarte, who covers the Owls for the Houston Chronicle, mentioned UCF offensive coordinator Troy Walters as a name to watch for the position.

Sources have told us both Stanford coordinators (Mike Bloomgren and Lance Anderson) have a good shot at the job. We are also told LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada is seeking an interview.

At Rice, Bailiff made between $750,000 and $905,000 each of the past five seasons.

most likely would have to take a pay cut

Nothing wrong with getting his name out there in discussions for HC positions and gaining valuable interview experience.

He’ll be taking a pay cut at any HC job that’s willing to consider him.

But he doesn’t owe LSU a buyout if he takes a head job.

Only if you think Orgeron getting fired because of rapidly declining records equals “we’ll be fine.” Especially if he gives it to Ensminger.

Then there’s Alleva, just waiting to hire the next guy that “wants the job.”

Frank Wilson took a pay cut for a head job. Sometimes you have to do that to advance your position down the road.

That's what Orgeron did for the Syracuse job. Maybe Canada's just taking pointers from him.

It happens, candidates solicit interviews, and sometimes they end up getting the job.

we'll be fine, as in no player or coach bigger than LSU, we're not exactly setting the world on fire with him anyway

Man, how great will this offseason be and how great will next football season be when we end up losing BOTH coordinators before the coaching carousel dust settles.
