In all seriousness, the program does look to be moving in the right direction. If the Brady thing works as well as everyone thinks and we can somehow keep Aranda a few more years, we should see plenty of success.

What is this conjecture based on though? Don't get me wrong, I hope it works out (whatever "it" is).

Where did I say that?

Such anger. I'd say if there is someone acting like a sensitive female here, it would be you.

If he's able to install a dynamic, spread offense that is well executed and can score TDs in the redzone like he's supposed to be able to, that's what I'm talking about. Then, on top of that, if he can transition to being the OC he would probably being running that offense here for the next 4 or 5 years.

If you pair that with Dave Aranda and Orgeron's ability to recruit then you have a real recipe for success. But, those are all obviously big ifs which is why I think the wait and see approach is the right one.

I don't disagree with you at all. It's just that he's never done all of the things that we're expecting him to be able to do. Again, I hope it works out.

The bolded stuff is the problem. It's just hopes.

I hope it's true, and I hope that his hire will be looked back on as this huge change in what everyone can expect from an offense at LSU. But until we see it in action, I'm not prepared to start talking about any directions we're moving...because this move is now the third move we thought would be great in three seasons, right? Canada was going to be innovative and change us. then Ensminger was the best play caller in America and a fantastic OC. Now we've hired a guy who was an assistant under Sean Payton and we're preparing to anoint him before Play one.

How about we go through an entire season of being dynamic and different before we start talking about the direction we're heading? That's my only point.

That's why I said I think the wait and see approach is the right one. It seems as if this Brady hire was a good one, but we won't know until we see it on the field. Also, we have no idea how the play calling dynamic is gonna work out with the two coaches.

Isn't optimism always at an all time high right before game 1? Gets me every time.

Even SEEMS is too much for me after three straight years of what amounts to new offensive coordinators.

I'm open for it to work...

Sure! Can't wait to head East to Tiger Stadium on Saturday morning. But, call what I have cautious optimism if it helps!

In the red zone, TL, that's where we are going to see who's running the offense.

I think we will get a better idea of what the offense is gonna be when we find ourselves down by a score or late in the game and have to have a first down on 3rd and 7 or so. Do we goto Ensminger is comfortable with or do we go with what Brady is supposedly installing? It's gonna be very interesting IMO.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but hear me out. In the red zone last year, Orgeron called safe running plays then settled for field goals.

You think we should have kept Stud and/or Cam as OC?

No. There was mush more talent on the 12 and 14 teams than LSU has had in the last 3 seasons. I don't think Stud should have ever been the OC to begin with.

This is the unknown factor this season. I do believe Canada was a better OC than Ensminger though.

You actually think Ponamsky is responsible for the hiring of Canada.

It's how most of us feel.

The average fan is open to the idea that we will see improvement this year. The rest are just arguing as to why it shouldn't be that way.
