At some point LSU needs to stand up and help Mathieu. It was clear that he had a problem and they allowed him to play and smoke away his collegiate career. They put football before helping the younger man and that is completely unacceptable. Sure, Mathieu shares the responsibility and shouldn’t have been lighting up, but the lack of support and help could have made the problem much bigger than it ever should have been. It’s easy to see why Mathieu left LSU to get better. Bull sh_t. Personal responsibility. They suspended him , then got rid of him. LSU is not to blame for his inability to control his personal life. He CHOOSE doping up over football. Who do you blame when he fails his first drug test in the pros. As much as I like the kid he has the Obama it ain't my fault syndrome.

You couldn't be more wrong. Just heard a live interview he did on the radio. His own words are that LSU did everything possible to help him when he was there, and to this day, continues to help him. He still meets with counselors, trainers, etc. He says they tried everything they could, but it was his own fault. His own choosing. He blames himself, and the people he chose to surround himself with.
And FTR, I'm no TM supporter. I hate how he let LSU down at the end. But you blaming LSU is a joke. And saying he doesn't take responsibility is a joke.

In the NFL, Mathieu will receive the support and help that he never got at LSU. Hopefully he will be able to stay on the right path and have a successful career.
Not if he doesn't get away from the crowd he was running with. Something he never showed any signs of doing.

Ah, but marijuana is benign and not addictive, I was told.

Even a year after being kicked off the team he continues to cast a shadow over our program. Miles should have booted him long ago.
Not sure which one of them hurts our school more!

I think some NFL ream that wants him but doesn't want to gamble with a mid round pick put this out as a rumor hoping to drop his value and then steal him in a later round.

Ok, so being 18 justifies you as an ADULT like you to put out there?
According to the law it does.
quote:
To just have that absolute cut off age as a gauge for maturity is completely absurd.
You are right technically you can be tried as an adult at 17 and sometimes younger, does that help?
quote:
But that has NOTHING to do about maturity levels. Does your body say, oh, you're 18 now, looks like you will be fully mature, just like every ADULT 18 year old out there? Hell no
You can vote, join the army, and be convicted of a felony as an adult at 18. Whether you like it or not that is the age in this country that you are expected to have your shite together.

He said it because the NFL teams had an idea how many he failed and TM7 does not need to start lying at this time right before draft day.
LSU is not to blame for his using Dope but having this in the open can be a bad representation or perception to parents that LSU coaches/University will let your kids smoke weed and test 10-13 times before they finally kick you off the team. That is the message that I see from this and that is not good. Unless, these tests were done by third party to see if he would test positive
