Jon Rothstein tweets that Will Wade says Marlon Taylor will not play today against Nicholls.

This may mean that Taylor will be shut down for another 2-4 weeks.

Why does not playing today mean being shut down for 2-4 weeks?

Prolly upcoming schedule coinciding with finals and break. Haven’t looked at schedule for next few games but prolly weak.

Ok that makes sense. I was curious where that thinking was coming from.

You don’t have the mental capacity to process more than one sport at a time?

Sucks for Taylor. Hope he gets right and doesn’t end up out like Daryl Edwards last season.

Don’t be that guy. Some of us actually have the ability to think about more than one topic at a time.

The fact Graves played 6 minutes against VCU is not good. We need Taylor. Graves is a solid little player, but Marlon has that ability to be a game changer and he brings a much needed energy to the floor.

The schedule isn’t weak. The next three games are against UMBC (not great), Utah St (top 20) and Rhode Island (just thumped Bama last night). Plus, Nicholls isn’t a bad team. They took Illinois to OT and beat Pitt.

Taylor was re-evaluated. Him not being ready is worrisome. He is completely reliant on his tremendous athleticism. A serious foot injury can eliminate that

The foot injury is real. Will hamper him entire season may well not play at all. Huge factor in our success with this offense.

I believe WW will maximize this team's talent and win a good number of games. As many of us expected, we have no answer for the loss of KBW. We will score plenty but will get bludgeoned by teams with above avg. big men. I believe our guard play will get us to the tourney but I see no splash from us this year when we get there.

I saw him Friday a week ago. Spoke to him. He was noticeably limping. Did not look good. I guess a lot can change in a week. Foot injury for an explosive athlete takes a long time to get right.

Wade said earlier in the week that Taylor would be evaluated this week. If Taylor is not able to play this week, he may be shut down for 2 to 4 weeks before attempting to come back.

Taylor had foot surgery around May for an undisclosed injury. He was listed as nearly back last month. Someone reported that he had a set back in a recent practice.

This really sucks for both him and the team.

I follow all LSU sports. Get over it if you can only follow one at a time!!
