Many people don't remember but LSU was Mays #1 team most of the '07 season when most had OSU or USC.

U guys think McFadden/Hillis/Jones backfield Arky had was better than Jacobs/Caddy/Brown? Those are two SICK backfields.

Give me Arky's.

Mcfaddedn, Jones, and Hillis were more dynamic and were always a big play waiting to happen--those bastards.

I honestly cannot decide which is better. That is sick.

There's a reason the media are backing off of their early season bashing of LSU, and it isn't just because they have changed their opinion. LSU is one walkover win and one tough but certainly attainable win from going against Alabama with us at 8-0 and them at 7-1 in what could be the deciding game for the SEC West and a spot well into the top 5. If that happens, it will be the game of the week, month, maybe even year so far, and their directors and producers want the buildup to be as big as it can be. Should LSU stumble against Auburn, the tune will change in a heartbeat.

The FORCE is strong with this one........

And we should want them to build it up as high as possible. We want the talking heads behind us so we will get the AP vote as well as the computer vote.

Trev refused to go along with the brass at the network and promote USC as the greatest of all time. He fought his producers and lost. There is a reason that the letter "E" is first in their acronym, and old Trev said he was going to give it to us straight and not tow the company line.

How do you know this to be true? Serious question. This sounds interesting.

Pretty sure this is not true. The way I remember it, Trev didn't show up to work one day, and had been doing a lot of bitching about how the Gameday crew (Fowler, Corso & Herbstreit) were receiving increasing attention and airtime, while his role was getting arguably less. In light of this prima donna behavior, ESPN fired him.

I did a quick search and found press backing up this version (even though this link isn't exactly a reputable, authoratitive news source).

LINK

Even though he was a tool and a dumbass, especially for the way he blew it with his ESPN gig, I have to say I miss him. He was such an opinionated arse that it was fun to hate him. It's not fun to hate Lou; he seems more of a misguided old man than a true a-hole.
