HS Quarterback....hmmmmmmmm

It's not uncommon for people to put their best athletes at QB in highschool.

You're missing the point. Lyin' Ed has fooled you once again. No fricking way Netherly moves to CB if Surtain or Goodrich came. Instead he's moving a true safety in Joseph and a WR in Netherly to CB. You will accept it as gospel when he says that this was the plan all along. We missed out on Surtain because we had our CB in Netherly there all along.

Yeah, but they didn't.

So, as a manager, if you have a position with better options at WR, but a really talented body that can fill a short fall elsewhere; who can catch, why would you not move him to benefit the team. That was the promise, to get the best 11 people on the field that he could.

This is a no brainer and a brilliant move by CEO / CDA.

Are you so lacking in management skills that you would keep a surplus in one dept while lacking in another and do nothing about it. Maybe you should stick to harassing websites and leave the coaching to the guys that make millions to lead our football team.

QB in high school can mean anything. They could be the bus driver as far as we know.

This move should be praised. They're at least attempting to address the matter.

Don't think "praised" is the appropriate word.

They're addressing a problem that they created.

Sure. But at least they're making an effort to address it. Would you prefer he get buried on the depth chart and transfer?

Of course not.

I just think a lot of us had higher expectations for a staff headed by a man who prided himself on his recruiting prowess. That disappointment is compounded by the fact that LSU has (or maybe had) an advantage in courting DB recruits.

Agree but playing corner is a skill that takes a lot more than athleticism

It's an interesting point you brought up with Webster and there's also a guy by the name of Richard Sherman thats said his 2 years at WR helped tremendously tracking deep balls, this is a fantastic move, I'm sure they looked through every WR to find the best situation so I trust it and expect big things, Netherly was going to get buried on the depth chart with this incoming class so it's definitely a net positive. This move along with the Joseph move makes me feel much better, and MN is a RS SO?

Maybe they knew that some adjustments in personnel/positions could be made between WR's and DB's with all the talent on board at WR??

So you're saying that the plan all along was to turn away DBs in the 2018 class and instead convert some of the WRs we have into DBs?

We’re supposed to heap lavish praise on O when he attempts to fix his own frick ups. Did you miss that memo?

Or just give the fricking scholarship to Goodrich when he tried to commit. Comedy of errors with this crew.

Yeah right, and tell Surtain on Sunday that the 5-star was no longer wanted at LSU. The comedy of errors are the posters on this message board.

You do realize Joseph was one of the top corners in Louisiana his soph year HS. Very good article in the Times Picayune last month regarding his play at corner. His HS coach stated that no one would throw to Joseph's side so they moved him to safety so they could utilize his speed and range. He can play corner.

Or maybe have enough schollies to be able to take both of them.

Logjam at safety also and Ed Paris can move back to CB where he originally played at for LSU and in high school. He is more of a natural fit at free safety, but you have so many players at safety (Battle, Monroe, Delpit, Stevens, Harris and so on) that he can go back to a position that is thin at right now.

Great idea !!! They have a copy machine. They could have printed as many scholarship offers as they wanted. Offer Everybody and don't just take the first to commit, take them all !!!

No, he's suggesting that they may have had it in mind as a backup plan if they missed. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
