At approximately the 15:45 or -27:00 mark when asked about the sacks:

Paraphrasing
quote:

"I didn't do a very good job. There's things we're doing okay at and things we're not doing very good at and ALL of it is on me. I didn't do a very good job with the protections and I just didn't do a good enough job and if falls on me. Our kids are doing great and continuing to do everything we ask. We will continue to get it fixed".

Doesn't sound like he will ever throw a player under the bus. If a guy messes up and the coach takes the blame, I think that will make that player try very hard to make sure the coach doesn't have to shoulder the blame very often. I think CEO and LSU got a good one here.

Not to mention how he is going to spread the ball around so everyone gets to participate.

Another quote at the 17:03 or -25:50 mark:
quote:

"We do believe it is harder to defend if we've got 5 or 6 guys catching 40 balls".

The season is getting close !!!

That's leadership. His guys will likely follow his lead and take ownership of their actions. He has to hold them accountable behind the scenes and I'm sure he is.

Most good leaders usually take all the blame and give all the credit/praise! It's a sign of humility and confidence.

Matt Canada is doing it right, but this is a results oriented business, so I hope his verbal leadership translates to success on the field.

We will get to see his character and confidence in the first game that the offense struggles (if they struggle )!

I hope his mindset isn't, "I'm going to spread the ball around so everyone can participate."

Get the ball in the end zone, no matter who, no matter how. This isn't 3rd grade.

Oh, for Chrissake's! He's talking about his philosophy of getting the ball to ALL of his playmakers, who were under-used in the previous regime. It goes without saying that he won't "let everyone ...participate" if they can't do the job.

The fact that this had to be said is embarrassing for the board as a whole.

This is the SEC not YMCA youth basketball.

How many times have we heard The Rant say:

If we just threw the ball to

- Desean Smith
- John Diarse
- JD Moore
- Foster Moreau
- Trey Quinn

And countless others from previous seasons.

If we just ran more legitimate 2 back sets.

If we just tried using tight ends as more than blockers.

Well Matt Canada must agree with us, because he's prepared to actually utilize our offensive talent. Refreshing.
