Well that may be our Thanksgiving meal for Thursday lol. I'm really excited for the tailgating tho. I live next to Marshall University and there will be no comparison. Also, going to be a lot different from watching C-USA games to SEC games.

I would never wear Ohio State gear. Being around their fans are the worst. I enjoy wearing my purple and gold in Buckeye country. The 2007 national championship was the greatest thing ever! I was the only LSU fan in a house of about 15 OSU fans. Simply amazing!

If you're not in your seats to watch the pregame song/festivities 20 minutes before kickoff, don't bother attending.

Ya damn right I am! My buddy attended college at the University of Cincinnati and I tell him all the time that LSU is more than happy to take Ohio athletes (I think Ware attended Princeton High in Cincy if my memory serves me correct). This whole LSU team is special tho. They actually play together as a "team". Already excited for the game on Friday!

I always enjoy Parrain's when I am in BR. Not sure if it will be open, or chimes. Have a great trip!

p.s. if we lose you can never come back to TS because of course it will be your fault jinxing us and all.

Lol that thought actually crossed my mind. If somehow by chance, I personally will never be able to stomach coming back. This season has been amazing and don't even want to think about that happening. I believe in this team!

It's been a few years since I've attended a LSU football game, like maybe 40 years.( I graduated and left for the military in 1969 and haven't lived in New orleans since). The greatest moment was when the cheerleaders brought Mike out in his cage. Back in those days they use to beat on the cage to get him to roar. The crowd went wild! It was unbelievable, especially when they brought him over to the visiting team sideline. Do they still show off Mike?

Truly, one of the greatest exhibitions of a school mascot in all of college sports!!! Nothing compares to Mike the Tiger. (And surely not that stupid looking bull dog at Georgia!)

If Ruffino's is open, I'd go there. Gino's is good (so is Juban's, Flemings, Roberto's in Gonzales would be a great experience but probably not open, Little Village or stroube's downtown) but for someone from out of town it would be a nicer experience at Ruffino's. Food is amazing, service is great, can't go wrong, a little LSU memorabilia as well.

BTW I think your story is pretty cool, watching LSU baseball making you a fan. The only must are make sure you watch the band down the hill, and get in the stadium 20 to 30 minutes before kickoff. Those two things make sure of it that you will have a great time. Hope you and your girl have a great time this weekend. Happy Turkey Day.

Appreciate everyone in this thread for advice and suggestions. This is why everyone should visit an LSU event of any kind. The hospitality is incredible!

If you're getting in around brunch, then I would skip traditional Thanksgiving lunch. You'll be too tired. Catch some sleep when you arrive and go eat a good meal Thurs. night at a Louisiana restaurant. Most of the restaurants mentioned are great, but pricey if you're in a daze. Y'all might prefer a cool local place with a good vibe the night before the game. The Chimes (LINK would fit that bill. Decent Louisiana selection, enormous amount of beers, game atmosphere, and at north gates of campus. Just a thought for a holiday night (if they're open.) Will check some more openings for you. Can take the shuttle from your hotel to stadium for $1.75, but you'll probably want to go early anyway to soak up the atmosphere, so you can find a place to park. (Early for LSU games is much earlier than Big 10. Remember, a lot of people go the night before and party.) Email me at louismex25@yahoo.com and I can look up what might be open on Thanksgiving evening for y'all.
Let me ditto: go to the Student Union, walk around and tailgate and tell people this is your first LSU game, team and band coming down Victory Hill, and pre-game are musts. Have fun and laissez les bons temps rouler!

Tonys on Plank road might be open. It has the best seafood for tailgating,
