Theus intrigues me. Another west coast guy, but with both college and NBA experience.

@NDKendrick_RR: Hearing Johnny Jones of North Texas or Reggie Theus are in great shape to take over head job at LSU.

I'd rather Theus but are they just looking at extremely obtainable candidates?

What's the connection to LSU or Alleva? There has to be one for his name to be out there so quick.

I have not much of a clue, but I want to say he has some family down here. I think I know one or two of them but I'm not a 100% they are related

we have a better selection of nba talent they have more.

Did you break down the players? How do you know the selection is better?

Oh wait, you think because La has more NBA players per capita, that the selection is better?

Did you wake up drunk again?

Pat Knight got Lamar their first 20 win season since 1988 and their first NCAA bid since 2000. It's all about recruiting and with his old man helping him which you know he will what do we have to loose?

Chicago will have the No.1 player in the country in 2011 (Anthony Davis) and 2013 (Jabari Parker).

A lot. If Bob Knight was good at helping Pat why was Pat garbage at Texas Tech. Not to mention Bob couldn't recruit worth a shite himself after the early 90's.

What I'd like

1.) Randy Bennett: St. Mary's
2.) Scott Drew (Probably going to get the ban hammer from the NCAA soon though)
3.) Steve Alford: New Mexico
4.) Chris Collins: Duke
5.) Billy Gillespie: Texas Tech

Likely:

1.) Johnny Jones , good coach at a horrible basketball conference
2.) Tim Floyd: wouldn't be terrible, but also a meh kind of hire
3.) Reggie Theus: Worse resume than TJ or Brady, one good year at NM State.

I have a question: if Johnny Jones is so good and such a winner why hasn't other bigger schools scooped him up?

Floyd, Marshall, Drew, Bennett, Alford, Pearl or just correct the mistake and hire the guy that should have been last time. (Ford of Okla. State)

Johnny Jones' teams are incredibly undisciplined from what I've watched of them over the last three or four years. I've watched a decent amount too, with Josh White being over there.

However, a lot of teams in that conference are. He also gets high-level Sunbelt talent and always competes for the conference.

Recruiting is what it's all about. I'd take a shitty in-game coach like Drew if it meant we'd get talent. I just think we need to look at guys like Drew and Floyd who have gotten high-level talent at major programs and turned them around quickly before we go for Jones, who is doing it at a small school.

Hiring Ford would be a TCU move. Okie State would celebrate.

I'll throw out a few names.

Tommy Amaker from Harvard
Brad Stevens from Butler
Steve Wojciechowski from Duke
Chris Mooney from Richmond
Ben Howland from ucla (could be a trent johnson type move leave before you get fired.)

personally I would love to see a young guy like Wojo or really any young and exciting coach that can recruit.

When Norm Stewart retired, Missouri interviewed Bill Self, John Calipari and Quin Snyder for the job. Hired Snyder.

True story.
