Seriously, if you can't beat SLU with Poche or Bouman there's no sense in going to Omaha!

Below is a link to the whole article. I didn't include in the OP because I know how most of the rant feels about Guilbeau. Guilbeau says he is leaning Nola vs SLU

Nola or Poche?

NOLA OR POCHE?: LSU coach Paul Mainieri was leaning toward starting Aaron Nola, a junior right-hander, instead of freshman left-hander Jared Poche in the opener against Southeastern Louisiana. Nola (10-1, 1.49 ERA) has been LSU’s regular Friday starter and was named the SEC’s pitcher of the year this week for the second straight season. Poche (9-3, 2.21 ERA) has recently been nearly as dominant as Nola

Wtf is wrong with playing matchups?

Just play the best pitcher in the country against the 2 seed and stop trying to be cute.

I don't believe that Mainieri is going to start Nola vs. Southeastern.

And secondly,

I'm left-handed. Do you think Nola could get me out?

Yes...but you probably swing like a girl

But I'd work the count.

Matchups are for dating websites. Pitch Poche or Bouman and let's start the post season already.

The correct answer is wait and see. I still think you throw your 3rd guy at SLU or go 3-2-1-1-1-1. Then follow up with Nola and save Pouche for the the title game.

LSU every year burns a top 2 starter in a regional and routes Johnny SWAC by 15 runs.

I don't know that we could throw out a pitching rotation that would truly, truly worry me. There are options that I would prefer, but I like our chances with just about any combination. Throwing Nola against SLU and Poche against Houston would be fine with me. Nola on Sunday would be my least preferable option.

When was the last time lsu used a 1 or 2 pitcher in a 1 vs 4 matchup?

i myself would throw Poche. But he has several legit reasons to throw Nola. People acting like its the biggest mistake ever made are wrong in that sense.

I agree

Slu's #1 starter is pretty good.

Or if we had even used our #1 or #2 vs a swac school in the mainieri era
