Wow, that's way lower than what my guess would have been.

My shot in the dark guess would be 60% chance LSU keeps Marshall.

The Aiken family doesn't seem to be budging and neither do the Astros. That doesn't bode well for a signing.

The Astros have really dictated this thing. They hold all the chips. The wild card is a young kid giving into pressure of $3-$4 when he believes he may be worth double that.

Of the Astros offered 5 million I think the Aiken family would jump all over it. I think if Aiken signs, my prediction is 4.1 million.

The Aiken family isn't budging on the 3.1 offer. Sorry for the confusion

From the few articles I just read (when I googled Brady Aiken) I don't think Aiken takes anything less than 5 and I don't see the Astros going that high up. I still like our chances of keeping Marshall.

When has a last minute prospect decision EVER gone our way in baseball? Serious question.

Well, to be fair, a last minute decision is usually always to go

You're right, if it's a situation where it comes down to the last day/hour/minute such as this one, it's a bad sign if you're a college baseball fan and normally never works in your favor.

Thpical posturing, one way or another, a deal between aiken and the stros will probably get done tomorrow. Hopefully it takes too long, or is for more than we could hope

I cant count hoe many times ive seen the " the two sides are too far apart, and likely wont get a deal done in time" bit. Whether it was an nfl qb, a cable network, a zvr, zach lee, etc.

Getting some bad vibes on our end but can't confirm anything.

This isn't a typical "last minute decision" situation though. By all accounts, Marshall isn't involved in this thing at all right now. The "last minute" issue is really for Aiken/Nix and UCLA.

Obviously if those deals are done early tomorrow then we are essentially "on the clock". But until then, there's not much for Marshall to even be thinking about.

All I was told is it's not looking good. And that person is usually reliable. Just though I'd share.
