the committee has overlooked that before for much worse teams

the tournament should include roughly the top 64 teams

our rpi being in the 20s shows that we are well within being in the top 64 teams

Your opinion. LSU didn't play well enough to earn a post season bid in my opinion. LSU wouldn't have made it out of a regional.

Probably the best thing that could have happened. Hopefully someone will wake up.

we don't belong in the NCAA tournament in the eyes of the ones that it matters to the most .

Just want to see why St. Johns belongs, if LSU wins every statistical category head to head.

The only difference is finish conference place.

if we squeaked into this field this year there is a really good chance the off season moves that need to be made and now will be made get done .. sorry, i will trade a nice overhaul and a return to omaha in the next few seasons over a two and BBQ at a western regional
if mainieri uses making a regional vs. not making a regional for his criteria on retaining coaches, he isn't even as good a coach as msu gives him credit for

there's serious problems with the coaching staff whether they made it or not

Sounds like the only stat that mattered (sounds like sour grapes, but it IS true)

See above comment. 33rd SoS is pretty strong, imo

As a separate topic, SoS is a stupid stat. You never know how your SoS is going to work out. You schedule teams based on what you THINK they're going to do that year, and if they under achieve, you get penalized for it. SoS should only come into play when everything else about two teams is equal (overall record, home, away, conference, etc) and one team played a stronger schedule.

Plenty of teams thought LSU (and us for that matter) would be a boost for their SoS before this season started...

in your mind, is that a sufficient determining factor? especially with the enormous difference between the 2 conferences

My beef is people say our OOC schedule was weak, and was apart of keeping us out. Well the team that that was picked over us had a weaker OOC schedule so OOC strength is moot.

14 of our 36 wins came over wake forest, holy cross, princeton, UNO, mississippi valley and nicholls state .. we lost at home in april to northwestern louisiana .. our virtual home-only non-conference schedule against marginal competition outside of cal state fullerton is what did us in ... now, maybe CPM gets the message and stops padding his schedule with rent a wins and gives fans a consistent year in year out quality non-conference home series or two and a quality non-conference road series ... our schedule, outside of fullerton and a few SEC series, wasn't exactly murderers row to st. john's sisters of the poor ..

you can almost always come up with a stat that makes it seem like one team is better than the other. in this case the vast majority of the statistics show lsu is the better team

Didn't make the conference tourney. To say LSU is the better team is purely speculation.

That, apparently, is the sole determiner for making the tourney. LSU should just win more conference games, and continue to schedule cupcakes in pre-conference to stack up wins.

Because they played a St. John's like out of conference schedule?

LSU had the harder OOC SoS, but St. Johns was selected making OOC SoS irrelevant to the committee.

Scheduling cupcakes (sans CSF) didn't work for LSU this year.
