LSU’s rent-a-tent tailgating area has grown since game 1.

Our group has been set up on the corner of S. Stadium and Forestry for over 30 years now. Some guys just texted that the corporate area fenced off an even bigger area this week and has even less rent-a-tents up. What a shite show. They’ve actually blocked off perfectly good tailgate spots and set up absolutely noting. Lol.

LSU has sold out. They charge for what used to be free parking, miles away from the stadium. They use a food vendor that is of both poor quality and service. They have taken away tailgating areas and handed it over to companies that charge people to tailgate.

LSU has been doing a land grab as far as tailgating is concerned. The people need to get real vocal. Signs on ESPN would be a good start

Auburn was like that last week. They had multiple areas setup with Signs saying rent me as of Saturday morning at 7. All taking premium spots

frick the entire LSU administration. Fire them all. Start with Alleva. F King next. Every decision they make does nothing but piss off the long time supporters of LSU. The fact that any portion of LSU tailgating has come to this bullshite should piss off everyone who has ever attended an LSU game.
We have all seen what has slowly happened to the parking situation and every year many would think: what’s the big deal? It’s just a few reserved lots!? Now look at campus.
This is the beginning of a larger effort to charge for tailgating spots across campus. Joe alleva will tell you that it is not, but this is what LSU has become. Don’t think “well its just one small area what’s the big deal?” It will be a big deal eventually, just give it a few years.

They better not be in our spot at 6am in the morning. I am half a block away. We have and will move shite that isn’t ours. If you claim a spot that hasn’t been yours, you best be there before the normal loyal group gets there. 6am every home game, no matter the opponent or LSU’s record we are there.

And priced the “common man” out of season tickets at the same time as screwing over those who do pony up for season tix.

I don't feel sorry any LSU fan that willingly pays for season tickets. You're doing this to yourself. Quit buying tickets, and stuff like gouging for parking and food and giving you shitty service will stop. When the demand drops and the supply increases, the gouging stops. The only way to voice your opinion in a way you will be heard is to take your wallet away from them and hide it. Money (or lack of it) talks.
I gave up my LSU season tickets more than 10 years ago when my TAF fee doubled. One of the best decisions I made. Much more comfortable to watch the game at home.
The tailgating stuff is a little different because it's a land grab. But unless corporate people buy it all up, they won't sell all of it. Mainstream people are not going to pay for a cookie-cutter tailgating experience. And if you do, you're a fool.

Just look for a normal spot. If there isn’t anyone there go for it. Just know that if someone comes around and says that’s our usual spot, I would just move over a little if you don’t have an issue with it. Our group has been in the same spot for 20 plus years.
The frat guys have been the only ones who have tried to claim our spot. We tried to work a deal with them and let them have half of our area when they finally showed up at 10am. They had taped off a huge area overnight which isn’t allowed and there was underage drinking, which we didn’t want to be apart of. Not taking a charge for someone I don’t know. They wanted it all or nothing, they ended up with nothing. Power in numbers.

We’re in the same boat. It was terrible last game with most of the rental tents empty until like 3:00. This bullshite right here was a straight up lie:

Definitely a lie. I know people who tailgated there for years. When they tore down the buildings there last year they were forced to move out.

I wonder what LSU’s percentage is of the take on these spots? I know it’s a b...h for the long time tailgaters and I really do feel for them but at the same time the athletic department has to figure out new revenue streams. It’s a business and you have to always look at ways to increase revenue to keep up.
