Everyone on here dogging JJ cannot call yoursleves true fans. Get over it, he is the starting QB for LSU. Many of the people on here are the sameones that were crucifying Lee last year. What does the kid have to do to make yall happy? He has done a good job of protecting the ball and he is winning. Yall cannot call yourselves fans because true fans do not constantly bitch. After joing this site and read the threads i have some to the conclusin that we are the most spoiled fanbase and its insane. Instead of constantly setting impossible standards for a 19 year old kid, why dont you get behind him and the team?

interesting post.

numbers don't tell the whole story. the big issue with jj is he does not seem to understand the situations in front of him. 4th and 1, etc.

statistically he matches up, but a bit skewed b/c he takes no chances to move the football. wide open or no throw.

a long way to go.....we'll see what happens.

Was Jay Barker a bad QB for BAMA when he threw for 7TD and 9INTs as a Soph in 12 games during BAMAs last national title in 1992?

Not a very good example. In the title game
quote:

Alabama quarterback Jay Barker passed for only 18 yards, but the Tide didn't need a passing attack because it outrushed Miami 267 yards to 48.

and to get to the title game Bama had to win the 1st ever SECCG. And the defense won also won that
quote:

With momentum in the favor of the Gators, with just over 3:00 remaining in the game, Antonio Langham would return a Matthews interception 21-yards for a touchdown in providing the final 28–21 margin.

Bottom line on JJ. He doesn't get it, he is not going to get it...this year.

What you see is what you will have. He isn't going to beat anyone, not going to turn it over an inordinate amount of times (had quite a few dropped however) and will most likely not improve during the season going forward.

So, if you are cool with that. Fine. Don't get huffy with others who want to see a rotation. Next year is another season, could see a new JJ and I pray it to be so.

But don't spin him into an adequate QB, he isn't. But it look slike this is what we have, he has my support when he is in the game.

Hope for drastic improvement next year, and hope the defense can carry LSU the final stretch.

We better, because IMO Lee and Shepard are gone. Neither of their parents will let Miles sit them behind a less than adequate QB for 2 more years. Unlike Matt Flynn waiting his turn, with these two there is money on the line.

JJ has the physical tools. I hope he does make great strides in the offseason. Thing is LSU loses a helluva lot of talent next year.

The QB position next year will have to be a position of great leadership and it will have to carry this team. This year, LSU has been able to overcome lackluster QB play. Next year, no way. It will be THE key position on this team.

Robb Bobb, why wouldn't it be a good example. It shows that you don't have to put up WAC like numbers from the QB position to lead a team to a Championship! Barker just had to protect the ball and not hurt them. They did have a very good running game along with a dominant defense.

I feel that even with JJ as our starter, we have the ability to be highly competitive in all of the games left and will have a chance to win them all. It may not be as aesthetically pleasing as rantards want it to be, but it can be done.

A 140 rating without a run game is much better than you give credit for. Just because he didn't come riding in on a 5-star rating with praise from the whole nation doesn't diminish what he's been able to do without a consistent running with which he hasn't had to contribute to himself.

The reason we're 112 in the nation on offense is because we've had no running game.
