In the end what happened is Jay tried to lean more on what was supposed to be a very good 2022 class this season and guys like Kling and Neal have just been huge let downs on top of losing guys like Shores and Noot to injury from the same class.

I dont think anyone thought he needed to go out and get replacements for Kling and Neal, but turns out those guys just havent worked out at all this year and have played a lot. I think Neal can somehow break out of his poor cycle some but Kling just looks completely lost.

Kling, Neal, Noot and Shores were the Top 4 ranked players from that 2022 class to make it to campus and all 4 have made either zero to very negative impact on the team this season. They were all ranked in the Top 35 nationally on PG too. Combine that with the extremely useless 2021 class Mainieri left behind and it sets up for a not so steller year this year.

I think their injuries last year set them back. Neal and Kling I mean.

Jones didn't get much PT down the stretch, but wasn't injured. So he was still able to get developmental reps.

We just added another JUCO bat, probably about to add at least one more JUCO arm. I don't think we're done with JUCO position players either.

Based on draft impact, we still have room on the roster for next season, even without any attrition. But I do feel like we'll see some attrition.

Great respect for your opinion so how do you think the OF personnel will shakeout?

Think Pearson, Kling, Larson, Brown, and Frey will all be here in '25?

Unless it's draft related, I don't like to speculate on individuals when it comes to attrition.

I don't think Pearson and Kling are as likely to get drafted and leave as they were thought to be prior to the season.

I also think there is some incentive for Pearson to stick around and play a year with his brother.

We have about 4 players who can hit…. And everyone else is hit or miss…..This is due to poor recruiting by PM and injuries…..He sucked the life out of the BOX and turned us into a mediocre team… glad he is gone

What do you think the half-life of CPM-blame is? The OP did a good job of showing how his last class has been lean on contributing.

OTOH, we benefitted from an outstanding '21 class and are still benefitting from some '20 Covid guys.

Jones might be the one that gets drafted as a sophomore & not Kling.

That could free up 1B for either Frey or Jake Brown.

Bingham’s LF spot will be up, & it’s hard not to love how Larson has played, on top of Brown as well.

3B will be open & if Pearson returns, you could slot Milam at 3rd & Pearson at 2B. Just kinda thinking out loud. Braswell should be back at SS.
