don't think you will ever see that again either

would be extremely tough considering the way the game has shifted.

I know for a fact 188 wont be touched

man, I miss those days

Personally no I don't think it will ever be touched ..which is sad in my opinion. Records are made to be broken. You have to remember the bats we used weren't all the sudden new that year (97). They were around well before us. They really started cracking down the following year I think after the CWS championship game that was like 21-16 or something like that

Yea those bats were nothing new. But add that to what you were saying in the advancements of supplements and it got a little crazy.

Fun to watch, but crazy.

We also worked out with the football team in the fall...insane lifting sessions ...not sure they do that anymore haha...but it helped establish an "invincible" culture within our team if you will..afterall, we weren't even expected to compete after the 96 team lost everyone coming in...well we obliterated the hell out of that squad in terms of statistics and everyone recognizes that team as the golden team of the 90s

Like someone said earlier, 96 favorite moment (Cresse's single to score Theriot is 2nd). 97, favorite team, by far
. That squad was absolutely loaded.

Me and my brothers were playing ball in Opelousas during that period and every chance we had, we were watching you guys at The Box.

Good times man. Playing baseball as a kid in the 90's was the fricking best shite ever. That "invincible" culture you talk about, spread further than just yall. Just by watching

I'll tell you the same thing I told Todd Walker last year in Baton Rouge.

Those were some of the last good years with my grandparents. They took us to all of our games and all of your games at The Box. Thanks for making those GOOD memories

Biggest mistake you've ever made.

I hope you stick around man. It would be nice to have another former Tiger's pov once February rolls back around. You'd be a welcomed presence in the game threads for sure

Just remember, 95% of the asshats here are either trolling, or legitimately have no idea what they are talking about.

Thank you for the memories Mr. Larson - the 97 squad was my all time favorite and you were one of the best.

Hope you are doing well. Welcome to to The Rant!

Brandon, why did you go JUCO out of HS school? any particular reason?

also in your opinion, what kept you from breaking through in the show? if i recall you had excellent minor league numbers

I think the 97 team leading into 98 hit a homer in every game until the 10th game in 98
