Before you mouth off to a cop, be sure you are right. Providing alcohol to a minor is becoming a more and more significant offense in Louisiana. Particularly every time a minor gets in a car and kills themselves as happened in BR last week.
By Minor you mean under 18 or 21?
I went to LSU in the 70s, this is a joke, if you are 18 you should be able to drink. Younger than that is a minor. The LSUPD was bad then and is probably still bad now. LSUPD are Cops who couldn't get a job in local law enforcement. One step above Walmart security. Big belt buckles and little biddy .............
Please don't confuse the truth with justice, the two have nothing to do with each other.

Question, if I'm just at a tailgate where there are tapped kegs, but I don't drink any alcohol all day, don't carry around a red plastic cup, etc, would I have anything to worry about in terms of getting an MIP?

I'm going to shot gun a beer tomorrow right in front of an LSU cop just to spite him. So get ready for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problem with enforcing the law. I disagree with the drinking age, but it's not going to change anything. In 6 months I won't have to worry about it anymore.
I do think they should put more concerted efforts into stopping drunk drivers than they do into carding every person with a can, bottle or little red cup within a mile of the stadium.
You could argue, Well if they stop a good bit of the drinking by confiscating mass quantities alcohol, that's less "drunk-arse college kids" on the roads after the game. But I've never really approved of a throw-everything-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks approach.
If you're under 21 and you drink where you know cops will be walking around all day, that's a risk. And it's on you. Not all cops are tools, although it can seem like it sometimes.
I'm not sure what the exact law is about proactively preventing underage drinkers from being in your vicinity. From some of the posts here it seems the gameday police are enforcing it a little like the Good Samaritan law from Seinfeld. Taking kegs is a little extreme, especially since it appears attempt or conspiracy or whatever is hard to prove. It is in part about money. That's why small towns have speed traps. It doesn't seem fair, because if you spend your time looking for trouble you'll find it.
Then again, don't make trouble and trouble won't find you.

I was walking to the stadium with other 30000 fans trying to get in and a LSUPD was trying to drive against the walkers... I hear a guy say "wowo thats f'in stupid" the cop must have a deaf cousin because he jumped out the car threw the guy against the car and searched him down infront of everyone. He ended up letting him go because the guy had nothing on his record and was respectful (which I wouldnt have been as much if that coped would have done that to me) saw a bunch of people say if you want to file a complaint we will sign our names on it and gave the dude there names... Total crap he was just stating the obvious!

Of course, douchebags here who are 45 or 50 will say "Rabblerabble follow the law", but come on. You're telling me you never drank anything on Gameday when you were under 21? I think if you're two days short of 21 you should be given more leniency than a kid that's 17. Sliding scale rule apply. I've never gotten a ticket for it, and I've gone to a ton of games. But now, almost 21, I still think it's dumb for kids who are 19 and 20 are getting shite for it. Not much changes in those two years to make you a better drinker or more responsible.

I guess once you are over 21 you have free reign to drunk and obnoxious.
yes.. because you are far less likely to hurt yourself or someone else...
