2010

That's right, the '20-10' game is the all time greatest game in the LSU v Bama series (at least from the LSU perspective) it was the first time the Tigers had felled the herd in their jungle since continental divide.

It was the game that kept Bama from a National Title and ended Bear Bryant’s reign of terror. He retired a few weeks later and ‘God rest his soul’ he died a few weeks after that.

I was like 14 or 15 (forget which year it was) and I succinctly remember the 20 - 10 jokes going on and on up until he died.

"Did you hear that Bear Bryant went to jail for beating his wife?"

"She asked him what time it was and she said 20 to 10!"

So 2010 is the year of the Tiger on the Chinese Calendar and it is a sacred number in Tiger Lore.

I say 2010 is our dad-gum year!!

I say Geaux Tigers!!!

I have a good, weird feeling about this Saturday. I'll buy in to your 2010 theory..... Here's hoping we "Takee Outee" the Crimson Turd in the Year of the Tiger.

I was at that game with my son who was about thirteen at the time. Bama nation was in a state of shock. LSU held Bama to zero first downs in the first half. Alan Risher had a great game. Let's hope 2010 is good luck.

I was there, and remember we were down by ten at half and then the defense took over and shut the them out 20-0. What a great game.

actually, LSU was up 17-0 before Bama scored a FG, then a quick TD, which made the score 17-10. LSU added a FG to make the final 20-10.

LSU completely shut down Bear's wishbone in the first half. Zero first downs. Rydell Melancon, Al Richardson, Leonard Marshall and Ramsey DarDar were holy terrors on defense that day. Risher, Martin and the Dalton James gang were awesome. That LSU team could have gone undefeated with any breaks at all. The way the defense played, that 20-10 score at 'Bama could just have well ben 50-10. Very dominant victory.

Interesting theory... I like it! Can't wait to see little Nicky cry when we squash his last hopes of a repeat!

Bama's qb asked his linemen, "How many people are wearing 97 on their defense"...he'd been nailed so many times....

Which was the result of assignment football. Miles should have used this strategy against Auburn.
