We just don’t really have a calling card (or Tre/Naz talent) to overcome our flaws.

Last years team was set up to be good.
Lets not mistake good recruiting for good coaching. Not that Wade is a bad coach, just don't find him as a good coach either. Way too much iso ball and not enough set plays.
Hurts that we lack a PG and lack a Center.
This is simply an extremely mediocre team.

At this point of the season Smart is a liability. He alone will cost us a lot of games. Terrible decisions the entire game. Poor passing and too many 3 point attempts. Mays and Williams and Watford kept us in the game. Days should get more minutes.

It ain't that bad. Their last game before tonight was a dumpster fire type performance and their only one of the season. They've lost 3 games by 2 points. They need to learn how to finish and Wade needs to learn how to coach a team to defend the 3.

Why is Smart even in games during crunch time? He is an absolute dumpster fire.

Listen, what’s that echoing sound? It’s an empty PMAC during basketball games this season. What a dumpster fire.

Tonight was not a dumpster fire. We had moments for the most of the game. We are yet to learn how to finish games. If we don’t it will be a NiT type year.

You don't know what a dumpster fire is. LSU led for most of the game, outrebounded them, had more offensive rebounds and actually had one less turnover than them. They just couldn't shoot and Williams had BS fouls which caused him to miss most of the game.

A dumpster fire was the East Tennessee State game when LSU was not competitive and was blown out even worse than the actual final score. This was frustrating, but a dumpster fire it was not.

It’s really sucks that the refs eliminated Williams early in the game with touch fouls.

True. I think we win the game by 5 or so with him playing most of the game.

Smart is killing us on the offensive side of the court.... forcing shot after shot and not letting the game come to him. He is hurting us more than helping us. He was the reason we lost that game tonight. We are top 5 in the NCAA in the paint and he forces shot after shot from 3 and off balanced 2’s that are a little more than a prayer to go in. He needs to he benched and let Bishop or Graves come in as point/ off guard with Mays.

Last year we won close games and Wade was praised for how we “finished”. When you live on the edge it’s not always going to work out. We haven’t defended the 3 well under Wade although he has preached defense, etc since his arrival..
He’s a helluva recruiter but the jury is out on whether he’s a helluva coach.

You do not know what sarcasm is. I was only playing on the 2 separate posters who both used the term.

No tonight was not. But it was a very frustrating night.

Now East Tennessee State, which I attended, was a dumpster fire.

Last night wasn’t a dumpster fire. It was a two point loss to a good team on a neutral floor. Problem was they really needed it. Outside of Rhode Island, LSU doesn’t have a decent non conference win. And the league isn’t as strong as it was last year. Gonna have to do really well in conference play to make the tourney
