you could download Hotspot Shield or another security software for free and watch on ESPN3 in BR.

I tried that but it still wants to know my cable provider? I'm direct tv. How do I get around that?

When on watchespn.com at the top right click sign in and login with your ESPN username/password. Make sure you do this without Hotspot running
Then click remote access. It will ask you to sync your account. Click sync.
Log out of ESPN account and close your browser
Restart Hotspot shield
Go back to watchespn.com, login again, and then you should be able to watch.
