If our defense show's up which It will. Texas only has 2 starters on Defense returning. I'll give Texas some points for playing at home. An inexperienced defense against our loaded offense. This really could be a rout by LSU. Texas has a good QB and offense. But I like our chances of scoring a lot of points.

"There defense returns just two starters which is a concern but one of them is safety Brandon Jones. It's going to be a massive challenge though to rebuild the front seven. There is some talent there, but there's also a ton of inexperience."

LSU - 34
Texas - 20

With all the talk about our new offense, I don't think Texas is the game we need to try to air it out. Their secondary is the strongest part of their defense. Their linebackers are the weakest. We need to pound the ball a lot early until those safeties starting coming in to stop the run them throw it over the top. Think it will be close through the 3rd quarter then tigers pull away.

While not starters last year, most of the players starting for Texas this year on defense played a lot of minutes last year, especially on their d-line. There is inexperience at the corner position, but Texas has recruited well and their defense will have a lot of talent.

LSU was ninth last year in the SEC on offense, hardly an offensive juggernaut. Having Burrow with a year under his belt should help a lot. LSU could be very good at wide out this year. The offensive line for LSU was average at best for a top 20 team and struggled against good defensive lines.

So yes, I like LSU's chances. A rout at Texas? I doubt it. I'll be happy with any sort of win there.

So that should be good for RECRUITING, since this is the RECRUITING BOARD, right?

horns lose top three and seven of top 10 in tackles. all seven were from the front seven. their projected two deep Dline has two that haven't played yet, ones a juco and the other is a RFr.

also lose top four in sacks and top two in TFLs. That's a lot of production and experience to lose and expect to playing high quality "D" by second game of the season.

just so you know LSUs "O" had a higher scoring avg than ut.

They lost a lot of starters. Period! If they had not lost the starters they would have returning starters backed up by guys who got lots of experience last year. Instead they have guys who got lots of experience last year backed up by scrubs or freshmen. Big difference.

LSU has a huge advantage over Texas this year. The tables will turn the following year, though.
