CBS delayed the decision until today. The three games being considered are the Tigers-Gamecocks, Ole Miss-Alabama and Vanderbilt-Georgia.

I wonder what the deal is because they said Monday they would announce it Tuesday and Tuesday said they would announce it today.

I don't know. They need to hurry and make a decision.

It's my birthday that weekend and I'm trying to have a party and everyone watch it on a blow up screen in the backyard, but that will only work at night so I need to know if the party's on or not.

I hate to say it, but CBS will probably get the Vandy-Georgia game.

I bet ESPN grabs Bama/Ole Miss, though, leaving us with Raycom. We haven't had a Raycom game in two seasons...it was inevitable. It sucks because I am making the trip.

I promised my wife I'd prepare a 4 course catered dinner for her women's group that night. I'm fudging a little on the serving time because I don't want dinner to interfere with the game. Most of the dishes can be preparted ahead of time, but the main course has to go from grill to carving station in about 10 minutes.

C'mon guys, make up your mind.

CBS picked up Ole Miss vs. Alabama. ESPN will decide between LSU-SC and VU-UGA after Saturday night's game. Whichever doesn't get picked up by ESPN will be on Raycom at 11:30. That's the official word from the athletic department.

From lsusports.net

quote:

BATON ROUGE -- The Southeastern Conference has granted ESPN the six-day window option to determine which game the network will choose for its national telecast on Saturday, Oct. 18.

CBS has selected the Ole Miss-Alabama game for its national telecast next week, while ESPN will choose between the LSU-South Carolina game or the Vanderbilt-Georgia contest for its 7 p.m. CT national broadcast.

The game that ESPN bypasses will be aired on Raycom Sports at 11:30 a.m. CT. The SEC also announced that the game between Kentucky and Arkansas will be aired on ESPNU.

The SEC said that ESPN will make its announcement concerning next week’s games on Sunday afternoon.

Yes, ESPN and ESPN2 both get a choice before Raycom, but ESPN2 is not "required" to pick up an SEC game like ESPN is.

The contract with CBS and ESPN supercede the Raycom contract.

ESPN won't pass up Vandy/UGA.

Raycom is looking like the deal.
