Why the * ?
Because they backed into the victory thanks to the clueless clowns in the NCAA.

Agree, but Oregon has the trophy. Just saying

Yea, and they should return it.

Listen, sorry to see Hossler get hurt. He's a great player. Texas had their opportunity to win on 2nd playoff hole. Funk didn't get it done. Had it gone the other way and Oregon player gets injured, you still feel Texas backs into NC. I don't agree with NCAA rules, but lets not blame that on Oregon.

I'm not blaming them. I'm saying they benefited greatly from a stupid decision.

Didn't read any thin on that, what transpired?

D II matches don't go into sudden death ... So if a match is tied after 18 holes each team gets a 1/2 ... The semis ended 2-2-1 and the tie breaker is total score of the five players .. Which is crazy because in match play you can concede putts
NCAA golf needs a rules intervention

That's nuts. FWIW, my dad had your job (similar school) 20-25 years ago.

No provision for injured player....no provision for sudden death or playoff. Yes, NCAA needs to make some changes. Just so many things they don't get right.

Please explain. I missed it.

Oregon got a W because an injured UT player was able to tee it up. They only had to win 2 of the 4 remaining matches.

It all went Oregon's way with that stupid rule AND them playing on a familiar course.
But they won it so
But they won it so

YOUR 2016 GOLF CHAMPIONS: Oregon Ducks
We're kicking arse. National championship appearance in Cfb two years ago. Men's basketball team is poised for another elite 8 appearance. We should be among the top six or so teams next year. Baseball is usually steady. Track lol. Golf CHAMPS. And at the end of the day, we live in the beautiful NW

Does this board ever move on from 2011? Y'all know you lost to Bama in the most important game of the year, right?
Roll Tide amirite?

Dude chill... This is an LSU board, not an Oregon one don't be a douche.
We caught a break that the team title was played on our home course and the the Texas Ace hurt his shoulder. I have no problem admitting that we were fortunate that the breaks went our way, but that doesn't diminish the fact that we still had to golf well to beat very strong squads in Texas, Illinois, and LSU.
Congrats on a great season and
