I dont have a source or link or anything like that but I have a very strong feeling that we will see 4 DE's on the field against UF at one time to put more of a pass rush on Tebow. If not that many we will definitely sometimes see three. CLM has said that we will see a lot of zone this weekend so we need to get more speed on the line to counter the speedy gator Offense and get pressure on Tebow. If any of yall remember against MSU Tyson played some DT, with Alem and Johnson on the ends in a four man front. I think we could see Tyson and Pittman in at DT with Alem and Johnson on the ends depending on the health of RJF. Wouldnt be a bad idea imo.

Keep TT in the pocket and you have a good chance to beat him.

Im suprised that there wasnt much discussion about it on here but against MSU Tyson played some DT and Kirston and Alem were on the end with Woods or Favorite at the other DT. With RJF at the other DT or another DE at the DT spot, we could have a lethal pass rush.

I noticed it. We did the same in '03 on passing downs ... Kyle Williams came out, Marquise Hill slid inside next to Lavalais and KPittman came in at DE.

I think it depends...alot of our DEs are really big so besides Alem I'm not sure who you'd put in as the speed rusher that are faster than our normal guys... RJF in the middle is almost like a DE anyway on 3rd downs...

THE key will be getting constant pressure from the middle and left side.

I like that plan a lot. I dont remember doing it a lot in the past with Miles though. I guess with guys like Dorsey, you already get a good pass rush with a DT.

No you're right, against MSU was the first time we've done it under Miles.

Honestly there isn't much of a need for DTs in this game other than in obvious Tebow running downs.

The 4 DE look is becoming pretty popular in CFB.

I think they'll pound Keystahn Moore more than you think to keep us honest...they did it with some success last year

Its an idea, but if RJF is healthy he plays almost every play. Even if we used 4 DEs RJF stays on the field. That would be like not playing Glenn Dorsey. Dont forget though, RJF also plays DE. So the idea still has merit that being considered. It will depend on Florida's scheme and how well we stop the RB from runnning. Its not a stretch to see many Dline sets with RJF and TJ at DT and Alem Pittman and Johnston at end. Our Dline is like the dream team, any formation and you cant go wrong. The key on defense will be pressure by our front 4. If we can get pressure without having to bring too many extra players on the blitz we will fair well.

The object is not to pressure him. The object is to keep him in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm. If you make him a traditional quarterback, the odds are heavily in your favor.

Kestahn Moore has a hurt hamstring. Not saying he will not play or will, but pound us I doubt that.

Seemed to recall Tyson moving to the inside some in the 4th Quarter last year against UF. Seemed effective as we pretty much owned them in the 4th Quarter last year.

4th Quarter Stats
UF: 0 points. 12 plays for 44 yards (of which 34 came on their last possession). ToP: 2:51
LSU: 14 points. 25 plays for 115 yards. ToP: 12:09

i like the 3-3-5 defense against UF that we used couple years ago....

we can shuffle in the 3 down line with a good rotation and then have 2 lbs and one standing DE like pittman or alem who is responsible for the edge....that way we'll coral tebow....

given their lack of a power runner we can get away with 3 DL i think.....

on the flip side this probably means we'll have 2 corners, 2 safeties and danny mccray on the field...not good...unless c.jones can replace him permanently
