Revenue generated-
Does this include television revenue for basketball? Because I have trouble believing that basketball collects more money at the event than baseball does right now.

And this is the result. Better move on from Mc or just give the money back to baseball.

You’re lying!

Last published budget report showed:

Football made made $50,000,000

Basketball made $1,000,000

Women’s basketball lost $8,500,000

Track lost $7,300,000

Softball lost $3,000,000

Baseball lost $2,000,000

In other words football is the money maker that is the reason the rest of the sports besides basketball even exists. Basketball makes a little money. And the rest of the sports are on welfare.

So stop bitching about a sport that makes money. Start bitching about the ones that don’t!

I’m not lying , I just believe my own eyes. I was in Omaha last year. I saw 27k LSU fans take over that stadium. The PMAC for men’s BB could never do that with a losing program. It’s not about the money, it’s about the fans and what they support.

And LSU fans support LSU baseball 10 times more than they support LSU mBB on life support.

The problem for basketball is that more fans/donors love those money losing sports than seem to care about MBB. MBB fans may not like it but MBB is in like 5th spot for fan support and most of the money MBB brings in is going to come in whether they are good or suck since it is from the TV deal.

I think Verge will try to fix the situation, but he will need donor support, he has probably been working on that already.

As a season ticket holder in 4 LSU sports (fball, MBB, WBB, and baseball), I can assure you the measure of how many folks support a sport is NOT how many fans are at the national title game. It's how many folks attend a weeknight OOC game. It's how many folks watch games on TV/media.

Baseball in college is loved at LSU but almost invisible nationwide. More US sports fans know who Kim Mulkey is as compared to Jay Johnson. More folks watch the WBB Final Four than the MCWS championship series.

Minor as in revenue generating. More money in basketball even when we are losing.

You are talking fans in general.

I'm talking LSU fans/donors that care enough to actually build a program.

Baseball may be invisible nationally, but it has local support. Mulkey has tons of support and even gymnastics has support. Gymnastics had support even before they won the Natty due to lots of work by D-D. They had people step up and build them a world class facility.

Where is this support for MBB? No one seems to really care except to bitch on TD. Most LSU fans I meet in the "real world" are totally apathetic to MBB. If LSU by some miracle made a Final Four run of course people would watch but they aren't really fired up about the MBB program in general.
