A bright side -seriously might be the best college band in the country (north Texas also a possibility). All drum corps players at umass and they have a bigger following than the football team. Drum line is absolutely insane. Different level. Check it out if looking for something different there.

Smith College (a Seven Sisters college) is seven miles from Amherst. If I were a young guy like you, I would get an apartment there (Northampton). There is a bike path between the two towns.

I have many fond memories of that area (and the bright & lovely young women of Smith). I envy you.

Why not bring UMass to tiger stadium ? I’d prefer that than NW or Georgia southern. Bring some yankee teams down for some hospitality and exposure
