And people do here too.

And there isn't much tailgating you can do for an 11am game

Yeah it makes it harder, but we get to the games early and fix breakfast type tailgate food and drink beer for 11 and Noon games. Sure 2:30 and night games give you more time to tailgate, but we make do.

Now those folks who show up to party and don't go to gamnes should pay for parking and the extra traffic mess they cause.

My TAF fees, sales taxes on the items I purchase for the tailgate, and additional donations to LSU pay for this already.

Wasn't able to read through the middle part of this thread, but here's a question I have:

Does anyone feel confident that LSU will be able to properly handle the logistics of this plan?

It seems that every game day people complain about garbage cans coming out at different times, in different number; port-a-potties being moved, traffic flow varying without any warning - is LSU capable of instituting such a widespread program without fricking it up?

If it comes to my daughter, the decision to go or not to go isn't going to be based on $40 for parking.

jesus you are missing the point. ok not you but tons of people will.

You just said your wife and daughter aren't going to come out there for the day anymore?

This isn't about the Baton Rouge economy it's about the LSU economy

Baton Rouge does keep LSUs economy going and vice versa.

The LSU ATHLETICS economy may be setting themselves up for a huge fall here soon. A 3-4 loss season people will be more fed up to give it up all together with the $540 parking and trailer fee for tailgating assigned now

So now you're:

-Not tailgating as much
-Releasing your season tickets

No
and
No

I'm not going to be releasing my season tickets. How did that even come up? And I'm going to tailgate just like I do now.

This is just one medium size tailgate. There are hundreds in the same boat. Most if not all will be downsized now.
Absolutely agree. While our Krewe hasn't yet had a chance to discuss this, I can pretty well guarantee that we're done. About 30-50 folks per game.

Almost half of our Krewe had already given up their game tickets due to the rising costs. Heck, it costs my wife and I just shy of $200 per ticket per game.... or almost $400 EACH game just to sit in the stadium! And LSU has already warned that seat licenses will continue to go up.

Oh, and I'm sure the rest of the Baton Rouge economy will really appreciate LSU hosing the tailgating crowd.

Do you honestly still not get it? It's not about paying a parking fee. It's about having to pay 40 fricking dollars to park your car. 5 or 10 bucks... fine. But 40 bucks every game? Really? You can get a ticket to most games for less than that.

And we all know how they like to raise prices every year... so 5 or 10 years from now are we going to be paying 60, 70, 80 bucks to park a fricking car on campus to enjoy some tailgating and a football game?

LSU is heavily subsidized by my tax dollars, my ticket purchases, taf donations, my past and future tuition and my merchandise purchases. This is bs.

No, which is the first reason why I'm not pleased with this decision.

Not for the parking lots at LSU. That money has to come from LSU. With budget cuts LSU has to find new ways of generating revenue. I'm pretty sure Bobby Jindahl is all in favor of LSU finding new revenues.

If I lived in LA, I'd get season tix and pay for parking to tailgate knowing the money goes to the University. People who just show up to party should expect to pay for the costs of their party.

The bugdet is being cut. They need more revenue. Don't go to games then. The problem with LSU is that too many people are mad about paying for parkind and not mad enough about the budget cuts. Pay up!

Thats the problem. None of us do.

$1 of every football ticket goes into a campus beautification fund which is used to fund parking lots, repairs, etc....

Say what? ALL LSU employees and Students pay a parking fee each year.

Not to mention my donations to the LSU Foundation and TAF assist in subsidizing the general fund for LSU.

Big Ten schools charge about the same for a parking spot per game. People pay it and tailgate and have a good time. Deal with it.

This is revenue for the LSU Athletic Department, not LSU.
