See 2006 Season....
UF played Arky in SEC Champ, UF went to national championship, LSU went to Sugar.

IMO, one way LSU can go to the SUGAR is by winning out and then losing to an undefeated UF team.
That would mean LSU's only 2 losses are to the same, undefeated, #1 team in the nation - on top of the fact that LSU defeated ALABAMA and won the SEC West.
The facts would support that LSU is the second best team in the SEC.
I also think Alabama's thumping in the SUGAR last year might play a role too.

Yes, but LSU was the "hotter" team at the time and did defeat the Razor Hogs that year.
Conversely, UF got the nod to play in the Orange Bowl after they lost to TN who went on to lose to LSU in the SEC Championship game in 02.
Again, this is a perception issue.
Another important determinant will be how badly LSU defeats Alabama.

You are all thinking way too far ahead. Focus on our next game one game at a time.
The fact that my Suger Bowl ticket is in my possesion allows me to think any way I want.

But this year, LSU will either be in the BCSCG or no BCS bowl.
This most likely will turn out to be true, but stating this in absolute terms is just flat out dead wrong.
I can think of numerous (most unlikely) scenarios in which LSU can be in a BCS bowl that is not the BCSCG, including winning out and getting edged out by undefeateds such as Texas/Iowa, or winning all our SEC games, but losing to an OOC opponent (VERY unlikely, but still theoretically possible).

I highly doubt that. With all the local fans, people just have to go 10 minutes down the road to partake in the game experience.
This is the reason they don't particularly like it when LSU is in the game. Hotels and restaurants, in particular, make out much better when both eams have to travel to NO for the game.

Of course, which is what I addressed in part in the next paragraph of my post. There are scenarios in which LSU could get to the Sugar, but they are very, very unlikely, unless we win the SEC and get edged out of the NC game. We could get edged out by Iowa, if Texas remains undefeated. But the BCS gurus seem think that right now, LSU may well bump an undefeated Iowa out of the BCSCG. USC could possibly bump us, but, again, that is not yet clear. If we beat both Bama and Florida we probably will pass USC.
I don't think that a 2 loss SEC team gets into any BCS bowl this year, except possibly the Sugar Bowl.
But bottom line, while it is theoretically possible that we could get to the Sugar Bowl if we don't make the NC game, it is highly unlikely that things will play out that way. But stranger things have happened (2007).

With the exception of last year, the loser of the SECCG did not get a BCS invite.
Last year Bama was the #1 team and undefeated when they lost. Everyone else in the conference had 2 or more losses.
The Sugar bowl already rathers have a team that will travel and stay more then 2 nights in NO, Most LSU fans will not. So a 2 loss LSU would very likely get beaat out by a one loss BAMA even if Bama lost to LSU.
It's all about the money, and Bama would bring more money.
If UF loses to LSU in the SECCG i see Bama getting the nod over UF.....

I think ????
the SEC Champion is tied to the Sugar Bowl, unless it is in the NC Game, then...anything goes, but I would "think" they would pick the highest BCS ranked SEC team.
But I do not know that whether there is a contractual agreement ???????????
if so happens,
I think we would be in the NC game, because we would have canceled our only loss by beating Florida.

To sort of reiterate, if Alabama and Florida are undefeated going into the SECCG, loser almost assuredly goes to Sugar.
It gets messier after that.
10-2 LSU would need the SECCG loser to have lost another to also have 2 losses. Even then, it's not a slam dunk because we would have lost to both teams.
If South Carolina miraculously finishes the season by beating Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, and Clemson, my bet is that would almost assuredly get the nod over LSU.

If the SEC champion is in the NCG, they get the first or second pick from the remaining BCS eligible teams, depending on what the SEC team is ranked.
They can pick whichever team they want as a replacement, but has a preference for an SEC team.

I have Sugar Bowl tickets. Here is my question. If LSU wins out and loses to UF in the SECCG and Bama loses only to LSU, does the Suger Bowl pick LSU or Bama.
Tough call.

My guess is they pick a one loss Bama over a two loss LSU.
My first instinct would be to agree with you, but LSU and Bama would still each only have one loss in the regular season - LSU's 2nd loss would only be by virtue of the fact it made it to the SECCG - AND it would be to the same team twice, which looks better than losing to two different teams.

In 2006 LSU was picked even though it didn't make it to the SEC CG at all.
I do know that the Chik-Fil-A, Outback, and Gator bowl all take turns with one of them each year agreeing to take the SEC CG loser should the SEC CG loser not get picked by a BCS bowl.
