What's wrong with the way Max has practiced? Those that have watched Max practice say he looks very excellent.
Of course, Max practices with the ones on various situational scenarios that may come up in a game.
While Nuss, on the other hand, just plays straight football without any specific situations to give himself and the number twos and threes practice reps and valuable coaching.

The problem with the defense last year wasn't talent. As we had and still do have NFL talent all over the place.
The problem was LSU was playing a brand new 4-3 defense. However, the players didn't know how to play that new 4-3 defense. Which is why everyone was so lost in space.
Now that Daronte Jones is the DC, being lost in space won't be a problem anymore in 2021. As everyone now understands and knows each of their respective responsibilities and how to communicate effectively with their fellow defensive teammates.
