For those not in Baton Rouge: it's sunny now, the big rain was missing us this morning then finally hit. Right as ESPN arrives in town.

I agree that the SEC bridge schedules the last two years haven't been created equal. There is still talk of eliminating permanent opponents, but those who play traditional rivals every year out of division want to keep playing those games.

Someone at BSPN actually commented on the schedule? That won't stop them from trashing LSU if they have 2 losses and hyping up Bama like they are the greatest team to ever play.

Dillon Gordon and Logan Stokes are the guys right now at TE. Stokes has been a star in the offseason conditioning program.

Hilliard will get his chances at RB, but it may be more situationally down around the goal line and in short yardage.

I noticed Fowler's comment asking Les who did he anger at the SEC office to get this schedule. Les pimped his answer though

No huddle and 85-90 snaps per game

Much better than the 60 we had against Clemson but still less than the 105 that Clemson had.

Love to hear this. Clement and Jacobs were both really good blockers. I was watching last years bama game and noticed them winning at the line of scrimmage almost every play. It would be huge for the running game to have at least one dominant blocking tight end.

Rivers and Jennings would be a close call for the No. 2 QB job if something happened to Mettenberger. Jennings is the more athletic of the two and can really extend the play.

Just talked with LSU linebacker Lamin Barrow, who said there are a lot of hungry players on this defense itching to make their mark next season after playing behind great players the last two years. He said the Tigers are sick and tired of hearing about how they are going to drop off in 2013 because they lost so many underclassmen to the NFL.

Can't be happy that they actually chose to come to LSU, must find fault.

It's a my glass is 1/2 empty crowd.

It speaks well of LSU football that the ESPN guys come to BR. imo

1st, thanks Mr Whizz for the links. 2nd, as I recall, in our 13-0 year, we had several RS Frosh and soph's who stepped up (now on way to NFL). Now with a better offense, and the next group stepping up...

my favorite parts from the blog
quote:

Chris Low Sitting here with the LSU running backs, and man has Alfred Blue bulked up. He's a legit 6-2 and a chiseled 222 pounds.

quote:

Chris Low Lot of unknowns at DE for LSU, but defensive coordinator John Chavis said he wouldn't trade his two tackles, Anthony Johnson and Ego Ferguson, for anybody else in the country.

quote:

Chris Low Look for Jarvis Landry to make one of the biggest jumps of any receiver in the league this season. Has always been a good route runner, but has blossomed this spring.

quote:

Chris Low Something John Chavis kept coming back to in my conversation with him is the young talent at linebacker. Kwon Alexander, Deion Jones and Lamar Louis all played as true freshmen last season and will be a huge part of the rotation next season. Chavis said Alexander was playing at an extremely high level when he broke his ankle in the Florida game.
