Deangelo Sanchez Considering who I am, I watch what I say carefully but at the same time, everyone knows I keep it all the real. It's disappointing to see our fanbase split as far as the leadership concerning the program. But the harsh reality of things is this....we have under performed the last few years based on the standard that was created for LSU softball in years past. It's not the coaches fault...it's not the players fault. Sometimes that's how life and softball goes. Here is the important part though....as fans it's our job to support the players and coaches til the wheels fall off. I love Beth and the staff. We just need to go back to the drawing board and find an identity and stick to it. It breaks my heart the season ended like this but it has been a pleasure to travel with the girls year in and year out over the last few years. Even after my sister graduated, people questioned my loyalty. But here I am still going strong because I still believe we will eventually win a natty. Always and forever.....GEAUX TIGERS!

but yeah that softball page is a shitshow. makes our threads here look like MENSA type stuff.

Jae Skoda
Yeah it’s awful having a coach with a .700 win percentage with 4 World Series appearances, coached countless All-Americans, and hosted a regional almost every year…. But hey y’all played high school softball and coach travel ball so I’m sure y’all know better.

Softball didn’t meet expectations

The glaring weaknesses on the team have been at catcher and second base and of course pitching has taken a nose dive.

LSU had 4 consecutive All Americans in the circle and made some good runs early in this staff's tenure. Once those inherited pitchers were gone, the pitching has not been a strength either and I have not seen one that has gotten better through their careers.

Catching has been bad since Jaquish left in 2017. I know she was possibly a GOAT, but catching has not even been adequate much less average.

Second base has been the other sore spot. It has been bad as long as this staff has been on campus even though LSU had some chances to be very good there a few of those years and refused to get out of the cycle of under performing.

Oh well, 2023 won't be any different I hate to say.

if that happens i expect scott to fire her. what have you done for me lately? where have we been trending last 5 years? all the posters on that facebook page are oblivious to that fact.

we could not hold miles here forever based on past accomplishments either.

Quite possibly. I know he has to be up to his ears with football, mens basketball, etc., but you'd think he would be at a point to force a staff change.

If he doesn't do that, it's hard for me to see a firing before that first step.

i get it. we said here for years they needed a come to jesus meeting and force her to fire assistants if she wants to keep her job.

it never happened. that needs to happen today. fire dobson and leftwich and move on. it still may not matter as her pitching forte has gone down it appears. I need to see when her contract is up.

Coach Beth could use some mentoring this off-season from Coach Mulkey. That may help her recharge this team. The talent is there and she’s capable of getting the softball team back to where it was.

Yeah with family of players and coaches in the mix squabbling with each other and everybody else, that LSU softball FB page is a toxic shithole right now.

I think I see why Alabama and Oklahoma keep the comments turned off on their FB pages.

You did miss one good one, the fan boi who posted “Oh DeAngelo! You’re respected all over the country!” Lol

I can freaking deal with the obvious fact that your comments about Beth are asinine. We don't have to agree and leave it at that. I'd rather have her and her kids representing our program than Orgeron and his string of women that he paraded around the past two years.

Has the mman won the lottery> Does he own a striving business? I couldn't afford doing what he does without those happenings. Especially now of days with the cost of living. Now it is nice to have fans that are so loyal but if he could tone it down some maybe we can find out the team may not be so distracted.

This is dumb! This fan is not the problem with our current softball team. If anyone says so, they're full of crap!
This clown-world that we now live in may lend creadance to this asburd accusation but I'm not buying it. If players and coaches get "distracted" because of an extrememely excited and loyal fan then perhaps we have the wrong players and coaches.

I guess it’s Deangelo’s fault we haven’t had a catcher or second baseman in years. It’s his fault two everyday starters have batting averages over 300. Easy to blame someone else for the problems. We can always go by good saying wait until next year.

Clearly our catchers can't focus because they spend all game wondering if he's in the right seat like 18Handicap does.

Wow! That's a very misogynistic statement.

Just sometimes coach’s reach the end at the program they’re coaching at. It happens and a new fresh start is needed. This is what is needed at LSU. I appreciated everything that Beth Torina has done here, but it’s time.

I have been a big supporter of Beth. However, the last few years have been a digression for sure. We were told this was going to be a very young and inexperienced team but I just wonder why we had such a drop off in the junior/senior class production? I like many of the freshmen/sophomores on the current team. If she does in fact have the #1 recruiting class coming in, as I have read online, then I am ok with giving her another year. She has an impressive won/loss record but we are middle of the pack in the conference even before OU and Texas join. Not acceptable.
