You mean Sydney Bourg?
The team misses AJ more than anyone expected I think. Covered tons of ground in center and was a stud at lead off. Emily Griggs gets too much blame on the softball teams woes. She's having a soph slump, plain and simple. She is still more than adequate at CF.
I sometimes wonder if the pressure of having everyone back and to win it all has set in. The girls seem to be pressing and it shows. Hitting with RISP is abysmal. I'll lay off criticism for now. Beth has built a monster program and I trust her to make it right.
And Ed, what you hearing? My guess is one of the stars is upset about not playing a particular spot with Serrett at SS. Kloss is better defensively behind the plate. SJ is a better 3B than Bell, but just slightly. Kloss was DPing, not it seems SJ is.

They miss AJ for sure. Griggs may be on her way out of the slump. Hope so

Interesting that they have SJ at 1B tonight now and Sandy at LF

Yeah, i had my hopes up, still do. They'll come around. The upcoming schedule is soft. Even if the team isnt that great, they should sweep who's left.
Playing Southeastern on the 13th. A new day.

Hmmmm. That's a ton of thought. I'd be willing to bet you are one of those who preaches that there is a softball swing and a baseball swing, and that the two are not, and should not, be the same.

Took me about 25 minutes to type all that up. I am a writer.
As for the theory on baseball/softball swings.. fast pitch softball, and baseball, i can't see them being too different. I bat flat-handed in baseball, but overhand softball, slow-pitch, yeah, I had to change a bit.

That theory is amazing isn't it?

Nice job bhs83. One thing I'm in disagreement with is you calling Jaquish one of the best hitters in the country. This year she is not. She was hitless against Kentucky. Her overall batting average is .342. Against SEC teams it is .178. That's a difference of .166. So, when it counts against legitimate pitching she is not getting it done. The best hitters in the country get it done. I also think most of the turmoil on the team can be attributed to her. And, I think she knows it and it is affecting her performance.

What the frick. What an ignorant statement.
Is this your 25th alter? Its also sad btw that you comment on the girls IG pictures. I saw you comment on Hoovers photo saying Jaquish looks disinterested.
You really need to be banned.

Jaquish, Bell and Landry can flat out hit. They are all struggling and it is mostly mental at this point. They are proven commodities over a couple of years so I wouldn't be so down on them or this team. All teams struggle, we are far to talented not to bounce back. Beth, Howard, Lindsey and crew will get it done. At least we didn't lose at home to McNeese State!

Landry needs to focus in driving her swing thru the ball and worry about running down the baseline second. She has a razor sharp eye for the ball. Its just mental stuff thats holding back the better hitters.
