Yes you have. I referenced him because even in the very few things you object about on decisions made, you typically end with support regardless. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just found it credible that he'll say what he wants on a msg board and tags his name, regardless of anyone's feelings or thoughts.
But if it's true?

I can understand the pregnancy hormones comment being out of line. Simply no need for it. Calling players & coaches out on their repeated faults isn't IMO. It's what makes a coach/staff/AD take responsibility. If they can trot out substandard performance yearly, and you keep showing up, why change it?
I'm not going to surf his post. Again, I do not remember a personal attack on Miss Griggs. Tone matters if you are letting your feelings cloud the facts, which I find most fans here do. By all means support your team/school/kids. But if you can be honest with yourself about their actions & results everyone is better off.

He airs it on the msg board because this is the primary place for fans of the program to talk. He airs it because he probably spends a good amount of money, or has in support and is frustrated to see decisions made that do not in anyway support "doing the best to win" which should be the goal. Ex: moving you best infielder on the team to LF. Not 1 person has given me a legitimate reason as to why or how this is a solid coaching move. Especially when your infield is terrible defensively. He's frustrated and it's his perogative to let it be known.

We don't all choose to believe every player will be great or that that the coaches know the best about every situation. That's just TB357
Couple of things:

1) first I'll say I completely understand the dislike for Mr. Ducote.

2) let me ask this as far as the comments made about Miss Griggs. Maybe I missed it, but did he say anything personally degrading about the player? I basically remember his comments to be summed up as "she's not elite. If not for her father's money & influence, she might not have been regarded as highly as she was, and she might have certainly been benched this past season." It was by all accounts below what you expect out of a slapper. Where is the harm here?

3) while he makes some stupid comments, I know personally some of his "inside" information has been 90-100% accurate on some things. I'm not going to say who told me, but I know what I know.

4) while "honorable and respect" aren't really applicable on a msg board, I do give him credit for using his name to go with his opinions. 99.9% of posters do not and would never.

5) "strong personality" when referring to Mr. Griggs is being very kind. I've been around him at games & tailgates. He has said horrible things about players and their parents. From appearances, to ability, even the race of people they date. Quite frankly it is my opinion that he is an a$$hole. Even that's putting it nicely IMO.

Lastly, while Mr. Ducote's comments are not needed, am I the only one who thinks assaulting someone over msg board comments is vastly worse than making negative msg board comments?

Offer must have been very good to jump to Los Angeles. Good for her. She deserves it
She wants to win, not sure if she always plays to win.
Some of you that post on here...

I heard about that hangover story.

Sanchez won't be given the nod at 2B until she proves she can show up everyday. She might have missed her chance. I would think that Quinn will not be allowed to make 20 errors again. She does not have the bat to warrant it. Doyle/Cunningham/Satchell can all play 2B.

As for the remark about these transfers not being a big deal, or making a difference. That's micro. Macro is, the best in state athletes are going to stop attending LSU on tops to sit the bench. That's going to create depth & injury crisis issues.

I heard some ppl say "she has a huge hole in her swing"...after she committed to Bama.

Funny how that works

1st: who is OF?

2nd: Hemphill was never going to Baton Rouge. Anyone who says different is lying. It was always Bama or ULL

There is a difference between reinforcing them and learning them, at least IMO.

Also, with the errors in the infield the last 3 years, are you certain coaches never stop working on them?

You're probably right. The list probably isn't long. Raven Chavanne is the only one that comes to mind. What I meant is I feel that there are things kids can learn and improve upon in HS, reps matter of course. But if they have you doing bad reps, what are you improving? I'm not advocating girls not play HS ball. For most it's the last chance they'll have to play. Just saying, it's not really a proving ground with the way things are setup today. If a kid played high level travel ball, was good at it, and ran track in HS instead of softball, I wouldn't see the issue.

We are all welcome to our opinions. The quality of softball, travel or HS in Texas is vastly greater than in Louisiana.

Kids go 4 years without playing HS ball and still go to college and become great players. That tells me all I need to know about HS softball.

Also, if you're trying to learn fundamentals in HS, you are seriously behind the curve.

High school ball is for fun only.

We've always had athletes, we need coaches in the travel ball world to improve. We also need more of an effort made in the early stages, 10U-14U to teach proper technique instead of worrying about winning. This method ensures you win in 16U-18U or at least hold your own against elite teams later on. Winning every weekend locally doesn't do a thing for your future, except hurt it. Just like posting highschool stats. It's cool. It's a nice feat for the girls, but it doesn't mean anything. A lot of these kids plays SS or P in HS, but they'll never see those spots in college. They hit .500+, but barely break .250 in college. It really is a completely different ball game, especially at the SEC level.

I have followed LSU softball for a very long time and I don't agree with you with how this program is shaping up.

Beth is below average coaching, her teams are inconsistent messes. She is relying on the last coaches players to win.

No, her players are here. Her teams are inconsistent, but she's been to more WCWS than the previous coach, in what 5 years vs 15 or so?

If you look at her future classes, there is zero good talent coming in. There is no one elite for 2017, 2018 or 2019.

It's hard to determine which players are truly elite 3 or 4 years out. Give it a rest

Its pretty clear this program is going down a very bad path. We might need to look for a new coach by the end of next season. Beth simply isn't getting it done.

Will not happen without some major scandal. See WCWS appearances

Jaquish and Corbello have black mailed many of the players on this team, thats why no one likes them. Torina was right to get rid of Corbello. Jaquish is a solid player but definitely not a difference maker. Beth made a huge mistake letting Bourg go. She is better then most the other players. All of these departures are because Beth is playing favorites.

I've heard from a few parents that Jaquish isn't very much "liked" but tolerated because she's a phenomenal player. You're a fool to say otherwise. Bourg was a very solid player. I'd say top 1/2 on the last roster really. You're correct, favorites have been played due to transfer threats and outside relationships. Beth didn't get rid of Corbello. She told her she could leave, Corbello decided to leave. It should have happened last year honestly.

I hope LSU makes the right decision and makes changes soon. We can't afford for this program to fall any further. Its going to take longer to get better players.

2 top 3 finishes at the WCWS. 3 appearances in 5 years. "fall any further"? The program has never, ever been higher. If you're going to complain, at least make a solid case.

Also, I am really suprised Beth hasn't fired Dobson by now. He isn't a very good hitting coach. His batters have always been undisciplined and lost at the plate.

LSU has improved in hitting each year he's been on staff. I have not checked this year vs last though. There was very big slump, team wise. But I posted earlier that other things were at play. Also, the top half of the schedule was brutal. The very lax second half helped the team tremendously.

Who knows what the hell Leftwitch does, she works with the defense?

It is my understanding she does a bit of everything. Email, or show up and ask her.

Louisiana has great athletes. They have mediocre travel ball coaching. It's not debatable. I'd personally pick Patriots over Voodoo but that's me.

They aren't top 10 in the nation. You can argue, use caps lock if you like, but it wouldn't change a thing. They can compete, there is no doubt. They'll win games and typically aren't an easy out, but they aren't beating the top 15 teams from Cali alone regularly. Would be hard to beat teams like the East Cobb Bullets regularly as well when they pull kids from the entire east coast, and snatch up the best kids from places like...Louisiana for tournaments here and there as well. Is what it is, don't take it personal.

I do agree on the local girls getting an unfair shake on the team though. It's a simple business decision on the coaches part. TOPS allows her to stick kids like Bourg, Corbello, Satchell, Lockwood etc on the bench with little to no cost. I'm not saying these girls are AA caliber, but I'm saying they could all start for a lot of programs throughout the country. But with the lack of a reputation for Louisiana travel ball and most Louisiana teams not playing in the best tournaments, it hinders our players to get national exposure during the recruiting cycle. Corbello is not as good as the 3 ladies before her, but she's a very capable pitcher on the D1 level. Bourg is a really solid all around athlete. Lockwood has elite speed. Satchell can play a lot of positions on the field very well and hit from what I'm told. The simple fact is though, most of these girls are happy to wear the uniform and be a part of the team. Out of state players come here to play and they are given the 1st shot. I've said it before, look at the players on the field. Very few are from in state.

The status quo will remain until these cheap quality players decide they'd rather not sit the bench, or TOPS is canceled. Then real money will have to given to local talent, or they'll go to other schools in state, or out.

Yeah, she flip flopped between 2 below avg hitters and let more talented players and hitters sit.

Guess we'll see.

I post what I know. You post what you think.

No, she won't select the pitcher based on matchups. Hoover is #1, Walljasper is #2 and will still get to bat. Smith is #3. The freshman will not see much action.

They'll be comp for 3B, 2B and LF.

I'd venture another exit from talented bench players if the same nonsense goes on again this upcoming season.
Same, but they have a private msg option someone told me.
357, what's your twitter @?

I'll make an account so we can discuss LSU softball offline, or should I say off the msg boards.
