Looks like the west coast teams are starting to make a comeback.
10 of 13 SEC teams are ranked in the top 25. Not bad !!! Definitely the best conference for softball.

Couple of years ago, I think there were five teams from the SEC that made it to OKC. Last year, Texas A&M were out before they unpacked their luggages.
I didn't think LSU had the team to win it all, like they did when they had Bell, Jaquish, the older Andrews, etc..
This year I am not sure they are good enough to be there in OKC.
If there is one thing we can take away from what we have seen so far, its that the pre season polls missed badly. Not surprising since South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas are much, much better than anyone thought.
If Tennessee had pitching, they'd be in OKC at the end of the season.
Georgia has a third pitcher now, who beat Tennessee yesterday.
Things are not going to get easier for LSU.
Each of us could throw out a lineup that might seem to be better than what Beth puts together. I was watching South Carolina the other day, and I was just thinking how nice it would be to have a lineup of swing away hitters that can change the game with one stroke.
Going to be an interesting remainder of the season.

Arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina are surprisingly good, though they were picked to bomb out this year.

It would be a shame not to make it back to OKC in Hoover’s and Walljasper’s senior years.

I think this season will come down to how much the middle of this lineup can produce on the back end of the season.
I know we will be at our best come post season, we have been essentially every year under Torina.
I feel really confident about our 1,2,3 with Andrews, Emily, Doyle
Middle of the lineup is where its a bit scary and not very promising. Sanchez, Schlattman, Serrett, Schulte all bat .250 or lower. They have their moments where they hit well but aren't consistent whatsoever at the moment.
Sunseri and Antoine has been extremely productive at the bottom of the lineup. I think if Sunseri can continue to produce and pick up confidence in SEC play she can be a major difference moving forward and change the complexion of this LSU offense. Sunseri has had less than 20 at bats and has already produces more than a lot of people in the lineup. LSU needs someone to be able to protect Doyle and at the moment Schlattman and Sanchez just can't provide that.

I was watching a replay of Florida International beating Florida, shut them out. Dewitt struck out a couple of times. FIU has a great pitcher. You can watch the replay on ESPN3.
I did see, also, some of the Oklahoma/Baylor game. Lowary didnt just strike out Scroggins, one of the best batting averages in the country, she made her look bad in the process.
LSU fans aint going to really know how blessed we are to have Carly and Allee until they are gone. Pitching has carried us the last four years, and now we are going to have to score a bit more runs to win.

Its nice to see Beth making it a major priority to develop Maribeth and for her to pitch in conference as well.
It will pay off a lot for her next year.
LSU will be working with two freshman in the circle as well. Both are very talented but its a major adjustment for anyone.
Crazy enough, I still feel a lot more confident about LSU in the circle next year compared to how I feel about our offense.

Nice going CST. Commercial break and missed Doyle’s HR.

Good to see Schlattman with a dinger. She was supposed to transfer in and rev up the offense.
