Lsu’s Contract with Nike stinks. They pay other colleges a lot more than LSU and we can’t renegotiate until 2021. At Nike 80% of their laborers are teenage females working 6 days a week and up to 13 hours a day. These are sweatshops as much as it was in the 1990’s when it was exposed. Nike stated at that time that they don’t own the factories so can’t control the working conditions. Stupid Americans are paying top dollar for child manufactured cheap products. Zion blew right through a pair of that cheap crap

While I think this thread is silly and unnecessary, I have to admit that I derived a lot of joy from:
(1) downvoting a bunch of dumb posts (e.g., "a symbol that I idolize and drape myself in is MORE AMERICAN than civil protest and civic discourse"; "if you disagree with me and believe we should improve the lives of our neighbors, YuO sHouLd JuSt LEAVE because my life is great and nOtHiNG should EvAR CHaNgE") and
(2) seeing that I wasn't alone on this board.

I don’t understand why detractors continue to make this about something it isn’t. This has nothing to do with disrespecting the American flag. How many times does someone protesting have to say that before someone believes it. Some of these athletes choose to silently protest during a time the world is watching to call attention to issues they deem serious enough to risk ridicule for. If you make it about something other than that, it is simply your issue. Maybe they should opt to kneel when it’s 4th and 1 on the BAMA 1-yard line in the 4th quarter with LSU down by five with two seconds left on the clock. They are only playing a game after all. Maybe they should use the other 1380 minutes in a day to call attention to their issues instead of the sixty when everyone is actually watching. Makes sense to me :)
