In baseball terms, that would be called mismanaged.

First and foremost, to the owners, it's a business. It just so happens that the business is a baseball team.

If you want to go see a team based on how much money the owners make, then more power to you.

The rest of us care about how the actual product on the field is managed.

So you have the chance to buy (and resell) tickets to the games you would attend?
this must not be happening very much because attendance at games is significantly down

If LSU just used their figures for actual attendance (228,352) that would still rank 5th in the country.

Would that be still 5th in the country if the other teams used attactual attendance, too? Just curious.

Does everyone report paid attendance?

And to those saying the Astros are mismanaged, you really have no idea what you are talking about. Mismanaged was 2006 through about 2010.

No way of knowing for sure because most teams don't put the actual numbers in their boxscores. But I would assume it would still be at the top.

And to answer the other question, everyone reports paid attendance because that is what the NCAA goes by.
