*ETA -- I'm not bashing the program, actually. 2/3 phases are excellent or elite, actually.
Only the offense sucks, but it's sucked for a very long time and has needed a massive overhaul for a very long time.

I admittedly don't follow recruiting anywhere near as close as I used. However, I seem to remember that Clemson in the last several years doesn't get really big numbers but loads up on quality. That will tend to hurt a team's recruiting ranking.
