Right we don't need a coach that's gonna "bolt"
thought we had this in Chavis. We were all wrong.

It's the nature of the beast, the good one's move on to better things (I'm thinking Jimbo, Bo, etc... not Chavis). Should always have either a "live" list of the next guy, or have them training their replacement, if only for the interim.

I'm on board with Pendergast. Even more so if he tweaks his style/system to fit the personnel better. That's the name of the game in CFB.

Take away cupcakes: Miss state destroyed our defense, auburn did same. Gave up 27 to terrible Florida team. Chavis was nothing special. Hire semi decent defensive coordinator and we'll be fine

Come on man. The defensive line this year was nothing like its been in the past. Going into the start of the season everyone knew the big problem on this team was going to be the D-line. Our Linebackers improved throughout the season once the right ones were allowed to play. The secondary was number 3 in the nation in Passing Yards Allowed PG. The number 11 defense overall. You and I both know that defense spent way to much time on the field most of the games and still ranked that high.

I hear you, and I agree.

Just have set some expectations out from the beginning. One of those is how long they are expected to be there at a minimum. The other is that good performance doesn't exempt him from the recruiting trail.

But yeah, there is stepping stones and there's moving on. We're not looking for a stop-gap that the next guy uses as stepping stone.

I haven't read closely

but I absolutely want a guy that is going to bolt. I want someone that is driven and is going to dominate this job. I want a I am mopping the floor today next week the fries attitude.

I bet he understands Lane Kiffens offense pretty well. I sure hope we can get this guy he's been successful everywhere he has been. There's a lot of really good articles on him. Just did a search on his name.

So we were the best defense in a conference that couldn't hold anyone under 40 today. Ok.

There was improvement, but let's take all of the stats into account. We were 81st in INTs and 101st in sacks. Also, our offense was in the top 20 in time of possession this season, so the defense actually DIDN'T spend an inordinate amount of time on the field.

Yea, screw an entire season, lets base everything off of one day of completely insignificant bowl games.

You people are hilarious

You are correct on that, but the biggest stat is Scoring offense 71, scoring defense 6.

I don't think TCU, Georgia Tech or Notre Dame thought the bowl games were insignificant.

Our defensive ends aren't big enough for 3-4. Maybe he'll start off with a 4-3 and recruit it up to a 3-4. I HOPE WE GET HIM

I think Godchaux would be a good 3-4 end
