what about white LSU players fighting?
why don't you call them thugs too?
Fighting straight up is one thing, hitting a guy in the back of the head is a thug.

Trying to see how many consecutive posts you can fit thug in to?
Have any of you guys ever actually seen a real thug?

Baton Rouge police spokesman Don Kelly provides the details to SportsNola.com:
"Our officers responded to Reggie's Bar, 1100 block of Bob Petit, around 2:15 a.m. on a fight," Kelly said. "Officers contacted a 20-year old male victim who told them he had been hit and knocked unconscious in the parking lot. Officers were also contacted by a witness who said he had videotaped the assault. The video showed the victim walking in the parking lot when a man, later identified as Jeremy Hill, struck the victim in the side of the head."
Kelly added that a second person was involved in the incident.
"A second unknown white male then also hit the victim, knocking him to the ground," Kelly said. "Officers notified LSUPD who located Hill on campus and detained him until our officers could take custody of him and book him into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, charged with Simple Battery. We are still attempting to identify the second suspect."

He would have to be convicted for the battery arrest to effect his probation iirc
In Florida, for a violation of probation, it's based on preponderance of the evidence standard. So when the state atty offers it to violator with multiple priors, it's basically a one way ticket back to the slammer.

Hill was on probation.
Hill pled guilty to a lesser included offense and caught a pretty good break, although we will never know what exactly went on between him and the young girl.
Hill violated the terms of his probation by going to a place where alcohol was served and consuming same. It is a crime to do so if one is under the age of 21.
It will be interesting to see what the cell phone videos show and what the eyewitnesses have to say. The videos are probably and totally incomplete as to the sequence of events and the eyewitnesses are probably unreliable and possibly drunk.
I have read that he is basically a good kid, but I have also heard that he punched the victim in the back of the head as he was walking away.
I would not get my hopes up about this case if you are an LSU football fanatic. The local district attorney is a big LSU guy, but he is also as honest and incorruptible as the day is long.
It could be a long season.

Excellent comments, except perhaps this:
quote:My question is whether this is true, that Hill *consumed* alcohol (??) I have not seen any report before this that he had any libations.

I especially like your comments here:

Oh for fricks sake. We only have a top 10 in the nation out of high school and a proven SEC back in Hilliard and Blue who is probably our best all around back when healthy back there. Take your lace panties off man.

What got the unidentified white male so pissed off? The victim might have been using the Red-word or maybe even the WTrash-word as well.
The victim was obvisouly asking for trouble.

Whether bam1131 is a Bama fan or not, his point is right, and he's not trashing Hill - just saying what is so. You, by saying,

You started your profile in October 2012 and besides trashing Hill your only other post was bashing TM7?
Alabama fan and an alter much?
Cadello, if your point is that bam1131, if indeed a 'Bama fan, while I agree with his point, still - he can go to hell if he wants to troll. "Hell", meaning to the 'Bama boards.

Reggies is 18+ so are a lot of bars. Was it just because he was on probation that it was illegal?

Hillar Moore explained it pretty well. It appears that the judge supervising probation institutes a review hearing on possible violation, but that review is decided only after the underlying charge (battery) is decided. If Hill is determined to be guilty of battery then the supervising judge can revoke the probation and order execution of the original sentence (in this case six months). If this happens, Hill is thru with football forever. However, it may be that any plea deal on the battery must included disposition of the probabtion issue. In other words, Hill pleads guilty only of he is assured that probabation will not be revoked. One thing Hill cannot do is wait all of this out till after the season because Hill is presently suspended and cannot be reinstated until the battery charge is resolved.

Most of that is solid info. Not sure why you say Hill would be "thru with football forever" in serving a 6 month jail bit but that's neither here nor there.
From everything I've heard, I still maintain that the charges will eventually be dropped. Whether Hill misses any games remains to be seen.

If Hill is not found to be in violation of his probation, a 3 game suspension would be in order.

I think time is gonna be against him on this one. He will likely be charged with Second Degree Battery and try to get it taken down to Simple Battery. He is on 2 years probation and if they try to plea it to a misdemeanor it could be based on successful completion of the probation, meaning the pending charge would not be resolved until that probation period is over.
