The advocate this morning says video shows Hill punching the guy as his back was turned and walking away. Hill then gave a friend high hives and flaunted in front if victim who was unconscious on the ground.

Where are all those posters crying self-defense now?

we have excellent running backs that will step in, even possibly better that Hill. Blue, Hilliard and Magee were all highly recruited, and now all look very sharp and ready to kick it up to the next level.

If they weren't better than Hill last season what makes you think they are better than Hill right now?

You're argument is too persuasive to resist. I change my mind.

I will not read all the pages of this thread but I used to do a little defense work and, in my experience, a simple battery is normally a very minimal charge, even in light of some probation term. In fact, most of them were dropped prior to coming to trial unless the defendant was a regular customer in criminal court. I think this is being blown out of proportion and consider the chances slim that this will affect Mr. Hill's ability to play football at LSU.

There was a song when I was younger about believing none of what you hear and half of what you see. Cell phone video can show a 30 second snip of a longer situation and often is like a single sentence taken out of a longer statement. Is he guilty? Damn if I know. Who exactly did what and when? Witnesses will appear on each side, telling completely different stories. It always happens that way. Is this deal really that all that serious? I don't think so.

yeah...nobody ever got in trouble in the 70's and 80's

quote:

It is time for this mess to come to an end. It is a reflection upon Head Coach Les Miles and his Coaching Staff to make sure this does not happen. I have always supported and given Les Miles the benefit of the doubt but, now this has gone too far and it needs to stop now. I believe this Team is split between those that have their mess off the Field and those who want that to end the off Field mess and get back to the Field. If Les can not put a stop to those who do not want to Play for Real he needs to give them riot act of LSU Football. He needs to tell them they either stop with the off Field mess or hit the road and go somewhere were they will allow them to get arrested and Play if they can. LSU has too much to loose to allow this to keep on happening and it is Les Miles responsibility to see that it stops and now!

This is much less serious than what happened in August 2011.

Exactly. If it was a 3rd string walk-on nobody would be in here knighting for the guy. I also remember some of these same posters calling for Miles's head for the TM7 suspension because they believed Mathieu only failed 3 tests.... Now he admits to failing approximately 10.

Sooner or later the coach, athletic director, school, district attorney and local law enforcement are going to get tired of looking like idiots and someone we will be made example of.

People say this kind of shite all the time but never actually produce the evidence that people do have conflicting opinions.
